Bird was one of the smartest and most monstrous players who won 3 MVPs in a row and 3 rings in one of the most talent-rich eras in NBA history. The fact he was slow and not terribly athletic gives him way more credibility alongside the fact his statistics were still crazy even after his back became debilitated. Larry Bird as a SF won 3 straight MVPs, had the first 50 40 90 season, and shined in an era rich with SFs. We're talking about Gervin, Moncrief, English, King, Worthy, Dantley, Aguirre, Dr. J, Nique, Vandeweghe, Johnson. This is literally a list of 90% HOFers, MVPs, Scoring gods, and multiple All Star/All NBA players and Larry distinguished himself from all of them.

@@Yomommahouse his IQ is what allowed him to compete at such a high level during that time. He had to make up for the lack of athleticism but he still worked his ass off every game. There’s more to being a great player than just stats. Anyone can pad their stats doesn’t make you a great player. Bird effected the game in other ways. Shooting was just one of those ways.

When players were playing with they back to basket and HAND checking. Every player says hand checking was a total game changer. Without that he getting cooked like LUKA or Hardem. Bird was not athletic

Which is why I don’t give Luka a pass. His fan boys talk about he’s not that athletic. CP3 wasn’t all that athletic, nor is Draymond. Jokic had improved but is still suspect on D and the centers of this generation are degraded. Embiid is really the only true dominant center. AD is a really a 6’10 PF, but in the bubble he gave Joker the work. This year he’s a shadow of himself due to injuries, didnt play bad, but Jokic clearly outplayed him offensively. 😢

people dont talk about (probably cause their not old enough or forgot) but the league was wiped out by 96.. from all the players lost from drugs and overdose the league wasn't as stacked with players like in 2016 when warriors went 73-9 while I admit the bulls one is better cause they won the chip. the cocaine era had wiped out a lot of NBA players

It’s debatable but he’s definitely in the conversation at worst he’s a top 10 player but that’s just in my opinion I don’t think he will always be tied to Jordan because he did win championships before Jordan Dennis if he really thought about it fucked up his own comments because guys from Europe can’t play in the NFL is made up of guys who also did play in Europe I would say at least a third of the NBA players came from Europe and at least 10 of them are some of the best players in the NBA today so Dennis Rodman kind of fucked up comment.

Whenever you compare past players to todays players you have to incorporate the technology and strength and conditioning perks the players get today. The advancements in recovery and even down to more comfortable sneakers lol
