Training in Session 6 (Part 1 of 3).
In this video, Little Mike shows us more of his pivoting technique. More details on the "Splitting the Difference" aiming system is also explained. He also shows us how he puts english on the ball by swiping. Slow motion was used to see his strokes in detail.
We also have an update of our trip to the 2018 Derby Classics.
I hope these video lessons help you as much as it helped me. Also check out some of our other videos which I am certain will entertain or help you with your game.
Check back from time to time and see my progress.

Mike and Kenny I have been watching your videos and have been learning so much and I have seen a up tick in my game. This is such a simple system and believe me I have tried most of them but it seems that Mike's system makes more sense and is more applicable then most systems. I have been practicing using all of Mikes advice and I am really starting to see some improvement. Thanks so much and I'm looking forward to seeing more videos, Thanks Ken for doing these videos I know it's a lot of work and you do it for the love of the game we all love.

I am almost one year late in watching this video. Guys, thanks for the light bulb moment. Before I couldn’t believe there is no English when pivoting. Now with the camera angle I am convinced there is hardly any English applied. Wow! Mike is a genius and the genius is in the simplicity of his aiming system, not complicated. Why he was never in the world stage is puzzling! Your directions to Mike in explaining his methods is a genius too - you guys are a lethal combination! Light bulb moment for me. In 8 ball I am now clearing many balls in one visit if not all. I do struggle with the edge to edge for very thin cuts. Any suggestions?

Glad to hear it helps. Edge to edge was a tough one for me too in the beginning. My advice is to keep trying it and one day it will click. Just make sure you are looking at the object ball last.👍👌

I enjoy these educational videos with Mike. Iam trying real hard splitting the difference. However Iam still hung-up with applying left or right english. At the pivot point, my bridge, I feel I need to to offset the whole cue parallel after splitting the difference to achieve left or right english. I keep my bridge much closer to the QB than mike does.Iam going to run this video over and over until I see the light. Are there words to describe the movement of applying left or right english after splitting the difference? Keep up the good work Little Mike and Kenny. Be well guys.

+chuck craig Hi Chuck. It's all in the eyes of the beholder. At the end of any aiming system it eventually gets you to the same contact point. It just depends on the individual and what explanation they are comfortable with. When I was going thru the transition, I had the same exact issue as you have right now and I had asked Little Mike the same exact thing. He said you just have to get use to it. After hitting several thousand balls, I got it. My videos of me transitioning was ugly to watch. Weeks 4 thru 10 league play, I had lost the feel and ability to control the cue ball but eventually I got it. I wanted to refer back to my old ways during the process but promised Mike I'd stick with it. His way of applying English is on another level and it only comes from experience and a lot of playing. Sweeping thru on the last stroke is something not too many people do. Keep going and let us know your progress.

Reviewing older videos.... could you possibly do a new video of ball selection and position window approach narrow and wide. Sometimes I choose the narrow widow which requires least CB movements.... but so etimes alternative routes lead to better approach and results 2 or3bapls ahead.

Hi guys... when mike lines up center to center on a cut shot to the right. Is he lining up the left side of his shaft to center then pivot to split the difference 3/4 with center shaft? Or is everything center shaft? If you could shoot a video right down his shaft at center ball then pivot it would clear up alot. Thanks guys keep the videos coming!

Hi i need to know this, mike says for the spliting the difference horizon shot, do you just aim center of cue ball to the edge of the object ball? Or do you aim center to 3/4 then pivot your stick to the edge of the object ball? Mike keeps changing it its confusing, it would be great to hear from you guys, thanks :)
@FaDaVlogs
@FaDaVlogs 6 жыл бұрын
+the guy I questioned that at first as well. I also asked if I can just aim for the edge. Mike wants everyone to have a set preshot routine for every shot and part of that is to aim center then pivot out. He says this will slow you down and will help you not take any situation for granted no matter how easy it may seem.

The system looks great. i've tried it once. It works. there is a small thing i didn't get. Mike points to the center of object ball first then he moves the back end of the cue a little. so does that mean a tip moved out of the center of the cue ball? If he is aiming to the edge it will be a bigger distance from the center of the cue ball? Or he chooses the point like 3/4 when he stood and lined the cue to this point starting from the first stroke? Another thing, I'm confused when both balls far from the pocket i'm going to shot and the angle really tiny like 5 degrees probably or a little bit more than almost straight, does it work? split the difference 1 doesn't work for both cases and i've tried split the difference 2 for the second case and missed a number of times. of course maybe, i'm a terrible player, go practice, really appreciate if you can answer. thanks a lot guys.
@FaDaVlogs
@FaDaVlogs 6 жыл бұрын
The tip moves so little that Mike normally still has it in the center of the cue ball. The further the ball is, the less you have to pivot. With his shooting style, it doesn't really matter to him because 99% of the time, he swipes another part of the cue ball on the last stroke. This is what he told me, "the move is so small that I will still be very close to center that it won't make a difference". For you, if you have to lean your bridge hand a smidge to realign to center, do so. The difference is so little that you shouldn't need to move the whole hand to realign to center. If it's that straight, you can usually hit middle. If not, I would just recommend you to eyeball it if it's almost that straight. Normally it's easier to shoot something just a little off straight then to hit the straight ones.

Thanks man. I've just tried it - just move a finger in my bridge for nothing. It definitely works. So simple. I'm still struggling to get where split the difference 2 and the edge shot start and finish but I'll get it with practice, I guess

When you pivot are you also pivoting your bridge. If you pivoted on the cue then you wouldn't be aiming in the center of the cue ball anymore but in the direction your pivoting to.

Mike is a fucking genius I know this because I have tried to disprove this for about 2 weeks now I have been playing on a pro tour 4 and a quarter inch pocket diamond and trust me it's no joke most people can't run any more than three recks of 9 ball so I tried to look at the technical aspect of the way it works because what I learnt is the bottom of the cue ball and object ball tells you exactly what is going to happen and why things will line up the way they do I learnt the only the part of the cue ball that is touching the table only the parts of the object ball that is touching the table is the only parts that counts and makes the ball however is a very small point but there are Dark Shadows that is next to these points that lets you know where not to go with your cue ball and that's the way I was shooting and it was working very well even on four and a half inch pockets it was working however when I got to this table that was for in a quarter inch pockets almost every ball I shot was hanging up not because I was missing it it was cuz I was missing that exact point I needed to hit what Mike has figured out is that when you line up to the middle and you do the three quarter turn it puts it at that exact point every single time and it's the same thing as with your Crest shots or your horizon shots when you line up the 3/4 and you turn to the horizon you put the exact amount of shadow or bottom of the ball to the exact point that has to go to make the shot also I would like to point out as when you use the Third Way he shoots it which is edge to edge where you're aiming the edge of one of the ball to the edge of the other object ball when you get on a pocket that is tight as the one I've been playing on you have to pay attention to the shadow that is on the outside of the ball that you are trying to make contact with because if you try to aim directly at the edge I promise you it's not going in unless it is a very high degree angle so I tip for you is the shadow that is coming off of the ball at an edge-to-edge shot will tell you exactly how much you need to put your Edge to the other Edge it's very precise but that's the only tip I'm giving out there's also another tip that has to do with your to tip on the horizon shots but I digress what I am saying is Mike system is Ironclad as far as I'm concerned there's no other way to hit the ball and as far as the swiping goes it just works I can not technically to explain it but I can tell you this when I do it it works and I do not have to account for the other things that you usually have to account for when you apply English as long as your thumb is facing down and you have a little stroke and you know how to maneuver your Bridge hand you will consistently make balls over and over again. so I've tried to prove you wrong Mike I could not do it because the way you do it consistently lined up with the technical aspect of it that I know that made the ball in the first place because the only part of the ball that counts is the part was touching the table if you got to leave a reply I will be happy to read your comment

They're not at all shooting low English what they're doing is putting your tip at the bottom so they can see the bottom of the ball that is touching the table then after they do that they can find where their contact point is going to be because like I said before the only part of the ball that counts is touching the table
