It would be easier if you put butter in the skillet, let it melt, and then move your bread around on the butter to toast it. You can't spread cold butter evenly on soft bread. That is too much butter for one slice of bread. Put a lid on your skillet to cook the inside of the patties to prevent from flipping too many times. Cook on medium high. The best burgers ever!
