I JUST FOUND YOU TODAY! You are a bright light in a sometimes dark world. I’m in early 60s empty- nesters with hubby - have no family who bothers with us. I get down and lost interest with cooking & baking once the kids all left home. Hubby cooks but I for first time feeling inspired. I am a thrifter. I love to collect & sell dishware, tea sets, vintage, etc. I love your videos. Seeing women over 60 living a full life gives me Hope & inspiration. I love your storytelling & your fun sense of humor. I’m a new fan & secret friend from upstate NY. I am enjoying learning about your collections, recipes, and life stories 🩵

Hi Granny Pat- my family is from Italy and a few things you said reminds me of how we make meatballs, sometimes we also use a combination of beef, pork, and veal in the mixture. Also, the secret to light meatballs is to wet some bread with water, squeeze out the excess water, and add it to the mixture. Many people use dried, canned breadcrumbs instead but that can make them heavy and tough. The other things we add to the meatball mixture are egg, fresh parsley, grated parmigiano cheese, finely minced garlic, and finely minced onion. Then you fry the meatballs in a little bit of oil, to get a nice, light crust all around and then drop them in your tomato sauce and let them simmer in there until you’re ready to add it to your pasta. I love your videos! I look forward to them every day. Carla in NJ. P.S. Last night I rewatched your Flossie and Mossie video- it’s one of my favorites!
@chitchatwithgrannypat79003 ай бұрын

I was showing my relative how I make burgers with wet bread...she kept asking didn't I use crackers...I just grinned. She took one home and fed it to her husband...he wanted to know how I got the texture like that. I add a steak sauce to the bread before mixing into the meat. A teen that had wanted to know how to make them for her boyfriend, said the wet bread and steak sauce looked like cat vomit. I said, DON'T TELL HIM THAT! And she grinned. She sent photos of her burger to me later. I think she did good. It is interesting that people are still learning these techniques! I want to try out the sour cream in some. Had fun listening to ya! And I keep Dr. Pepper in business too!

We have been fooled into think the food that is really good for us is not good for us! Fat doesn't make you fat! It reduces inflammation, balances your chemistry and lubricates you body inside and out! BTW, Fat has zero carbs! It can not make you gain weight! Meat and dairy cheese etc. have zero carbs also! The culprit that causes problems is sugar, not fat!

Hello from Southern California. Nice to find another Dr Pepper fan. I had my first taste in 1963. My uncle was starting a business servicing soda machines and wanted to know what types of sodas to stock. He sat my four cousins, my three brothers and myself down at the dining room table and had us taste at least a dozen different sodas. I was the only one who liked Dr Pepper. I cook my hamburgers in a slow oven until just done and then freeze the leftovers. One defrosted they reheat beautifully in the air fryer or even the microwave on 50% power (so they don't become tough).

Good afternoon from Pennsylvania, 🌹 I am enjoying your recipe for the hamburgers. My mother also used ground beef and mixture of ground pork and veal, onions, eggs and 2 slices of bread that was dipped into milk and patted down some of the milk mixture, seasoning. She did the same for her stuffed cabbage but without the bread and using pre-cooked regular rice from the stovetop and rolled into the pre boiled cabbage leaves and rolled them up. Adding diced can tomatoes, tomatoe juice or tomato soup and topped with sauerkraut. Baked in a roaster. I thought I would share. First time viewer here. Your sense of humor is delightful. The story telling is an added bonus.

What a pleasure that this came through on my feed. I immediately subscribed. You are quite the gem. Bravo on the hamburgers. I will most certainly try sour cream in my burger mix next time 😊

I’m in love, you reminded me of my dad, he passed in 2019 at 79 years young. He taught me to cook at a very young age and your methods reminded me of him. Hugs and love and prayers to you and your family.

Just found your channel. Joined specifically because you remind me of my grandma Condrey. I know you don't know her but let me tell you that's the best compliment anyone could get. She was an angel 😇 . Thank you for warming my heart on this Sunday morning with memories of being with my grandma. I grew up in her house and I spent a lot of time with her and in her kitchen watching her cook.. lol stealing cookie dough when I thought she wasn't looking. She always knew but never minded. Have a blessed day Granny Pat 💜

Homemade cheeseburgers are the best meal for sure. I love fried potatoes too. I enjoy watching you cook and tell stories as you cook. I got your cookbook and have enjoyed the wonderful stories within cookbook along with your delicious recipes. Love from Ky subscriber. Here on the bourbon trail.

You are so much fun to watch. I feel like I just dropped by and had a seat on one of those old tall kitchen chairs. And learning a new recipe to boot. Connie
