vlog | midterms, 15 hour library day, writing essays, cafe study

hi friends ~ in today's video I complete my midterm assignments - writing 3 essays in 2 weeks, but really writing them in 1 week because the first week was full of procrastination and me failing to work ...... :') ..... I spent the first day working in a cafe, and the next in the library until 3am! hope anyone with exams is doing okay and not experiencing too much stress (I had a bit too much to be honest and it made things very hard). I also chat a LOT in this video, I didn't even realise how much.... but theres essentially just 25 minutes of chatting in the middle of the video. hope that isn't too boring ! anywho, so you next week!!!
p.s sorry I've been awful at replying to comments . I have just been very busy and will get back to them over the next few days (hopefully)!

I completely relate to you. I was once so incredibly depressed during school. The strange thing is that I was functioning pretty well. I had good grades, I never missed one assignment. I felt empty and worthless but my hands kept typing essays and doing assignments. Almost like my academic self and my true self were separate. When did it become so normal to push through the emptiness and continue as if nothing is wrong? I once read that it takes the brain months to recover from a depressive episode. I don’t think I’ve ever recovered. But I make it my goal to never feel that way again, to always take care of myself, and to never ignore how I feel in favor of productivity. Resting, eating, cleaning and taking care of yourself is also productive, it’s not a waste of time it is worth it!

Thank you so much for sharing. You're right, taking care of yourself should always be a #1 priority and come before anything else. It has become far so normalised for people to feel as if they are less worthy of happiness if they aren't as 'productive', but productivity can look so different for each of us. My goal is always to try and be happy, take things slow, be grateful for life, and just try my best in everything I do. Once I stopped setting such high expectations for myself and realised it is OK to fail, as long as I tried my best, I became a lot happier as a person and think I'm much more emotionally intelligent now too . 🌷

i'd like to tell you your video bacame my routine! now every sunday or saturday (depending on how many classes and plans i have on saturday) i watch your videos while doing my assigments. and this little routine thing helps me start earlier because i genuinely enjoy all of your videos and i also absolutely love how calming and comforting they are

my life has changed so much in two weeks; i started my studies to become a nurse and i'm learning at the same time to take care of my mental health and remember that i have to stop sometimes and enjoy life, to stop 24/7 of being in the books and don't feel regret for not be all that amount of time studying, and at that time i found your channel and you talked about this issue before and made me feel a little less alone on this. your videos are a go-to for me and you feel like a comfort zone for me right now and i just hope you can feel the same with the people you love and take care of yourself just as much as you try to let us know and understand, so yeah leah, thank you so much!

girl that meditation part had me cracking up 💀💀 I love your vlogs so much. Watching them has made me realize I can relate a lot as I’ve been going through a somewhat similar university/life situation as you, and I get how scary it can be. Just know u ain’t alone in whatever you’re going through, and I’m proud seeing you so close to completing uni, congrats!! I can tell ur very introspective with your talks and it makes me feel less alone cause I also take some things really seriously sometimes. Can’t wait for the next vlog!!

I've never been in a 24 hour library late at night, is there still security milling about in the library or is it dead? I live too far from my local library and need to get a bus, so I have to be home reasonably early, especially if the last bus is about 11pm and you get home about 1am. Keep going, have a little list and each thing you submit, you can score it off and see that the deadlines are getting less and less. Your dinner in the cafe looked scrummy and filling, just what you need. I have just finished my first module of 4 for my COSCA certificate and everyone in my class says they are happy that I took the plunge into doing counselling from a science background myself. No long now

It is a university library, so operates a bit differently to a public one. There is always security at the entrance, but they don't really leave the front desk! You don't need to worry about thieves etc. because only students can come in and there are cameras everywhere, so a lot of people just leave their laptops etc overnight. I would say there was less than 10 people in the whole place at 2am though!! Well done on your COSCA!

I only film with my phone, it has 256gb storage so can usually have 1-2 days of footage on it - then I import it to my laptop

I don't see a reason to do that, as someone could just pause half way through and carry on at a later time if they want, and I don't want to take away the option to watch the whole thing at once (since I know a lot of people enjoy that too!)
