This is a very professional attitude you’ve had towards your tableware designs. In the future if you work in this industry, you’d have to compromise on your final designs accordingly to your clients. And you already explored a lot about your own style so that’s fine. Enjoyed your thrift haul and can relate to this I’m rather a rather flamboyant bigger guy so finding stuff that fits and that I like while thrifting is almost impossible! Hugs

Omg!! I somehow missed this vid so I'm watching it now :~) obviously I've seen updates on your projects since this vid (way to go!) but I wanted to say your thrift haul is epic and I'd love to see hauls from you more often!!! My favorite pieces from this haul are the second shirt with the cute little collar, the beige sweater with the interesting pattern (I also with it had the tag so we could know the brand), and the coord set!!!

My takeaways from this video: Loved your asymmetrical vest. Shots of you kitty, an appreciation of all the steps that go into designing, thinking that maybe your prof's objection to your plate design was made from a marketability standpoint. I am wondering about the balance between the design esthetic and marketing. Enjoyed the thrift haul and of course the obligatory turkey leg shot at the Renfair. over the weekend I have binged all of your study journey and it's really amazing to see how much you've progressed and grown into your own style, and the joy you spread from your enjoyment in your work. As a design student myself, I can also say there is benefit in taking the tutor important. Keep exploring and standing up for your designs that you are super passionate and have faith in. Which ever colour choice you choose I think will be amazing. Keep it up

You looked so happy at the Ren Faire! I felt for you when you spoke of your challenges with your dishware project. I've felt like this project hasn't had the mojo of other projects you've shared; it feels like you've really struggled to find your rhythm with it. A change in the rules sounds so frustrating! I think that perhaps going with your professor's leadership on this one--a project that you haven't felt strongly about anyway--might just help you get through it, and perhaps in retrospect you'll get what you need from it? I loved the thrift haul; I'm not much of one for that kind of content, but I enjoy your sense of style and I'd like to see what you put together. Thanks!

Like the bowl. There are always hoops to jump through. You can get through it. The fair looked most enjoyable. The jellyfish-flowers are such a refreshing take on a stripe. Keep up the good work. The thrift fasion show is a great addition.

I think it is wise to take input from your professor on the tableware project. That's the point of learning, right? Does your background have to be white or could you switch subject and ground colors? I'm envious of the Ren Faire trip!

I am a bit confused why you are taking a "table top" class designing dishes if you are a textile major. At first I thought you would be designing table linens. that said I love the loopy yarn design--let us know if you actually produce some!

I do love the purple with lime design... but can understand why your teacher wouldn't be into them for a formal table setting.... Sorry you had to change your direction on the project.
