Wow, just incredible! This whole video just explains why I like aerial firefighting. Also, it was nice to see you capture C-FQNG and C-GOJN. I saw them multiple times throughout the summer when they were fighting fires on Vancouver Island.

Areospecielle PUMA helicopter, the second helicopter is the Bell 412, 3rd helicopters are the Sikorsky S-61N models, 4th helicopter is another Bell 412, 5th helicopter is a Bell 407, 6th helicopter another Sikorsky S-61N, 7th helicopters are the Bell 205H, Bell 412, several Bell 205H models.

The helicopter at 8:50 is a very rare Bell 214 which is a very powerful version off the Huey series.. it's single Lycoming turbine has almost 3000 shp. Also quiet fast in comparison to the 205 or 212.

@@VMCAviationVideos The Chinook uses the same engine..so you can imagine how powerful it is in a Huey airframe. It is mostly used for heavy lifting ..Quiet alot were also purchased by the Iranians in the late 70's. Not many left flying today . There is a few firefighting in Australia and there is also the bigger 214 ST version .

It's a Sikorsky S61, I think the Sea King came from the S61, or vice versa.

VMC Aviation Videos Yeah, I got a look at it from the other side. The S-61 was developed from the sea king. That gray paint job threw me off a little bit. Those S-61s are big birds.

They are S61L (for land) Mk1. They do not have the floats on the undercarriage that are on the S61N ( for Nautical). Some S61N were modified to extend the cockpit forward by about 50 inches to allow for a sliding cargo door on the starboard side forward of the undercarriage and more seats for passenger carrying. They have the same engines as the Sea King, but down rated as CT58 from T58 which is the military version. These engines entered service in 1958 and are still widely used today. Both the engines and the S61 family are great workhorses, and were the backbone of North Sea oil exploration in the 70s and 80s, flying from Aberdeen and Shetland islands. The engines were also produced under licence by Rolls Royce as the Gnome, which powered Westland built Sea Kings.
