Real airline pilot here. I really think these videos are great. The value I get from watching them, is to learn how other operators do a certain procedure, and often the why! At my airline we are often told what to do, and maybe how to do it, but seldom, why we do it that way.

Glad you like them! It's always interesting to see how things are done in other airlines, even things that are considered unacceptable at your own airline may be SOP in others. Of course that isn't an excuse to violate any rules, but it's still fascinating to expand your view of aviation, isn't it?

This is why I love switching up between flying the boeing and airbus. They both have characteristics that I like. Thanks for the video!

In most descend condition, SPD INVT will revert VNAV to VNAV SPD mode, in your demo you are already in geo path so it keeps in VNAV PATH. In the airspace we operate it's almost always stepped down by ATC, CDO is exception than rule, so LVL CHG or even V/S is more used than VNAV, that makes many don't even know how VNAV even works, and when the RNP APCH stuff kicks in now (and we don't have IAN installed), many get confused...

Very much appreciate you passing on your 737 knowledge even though you're an A330 driver now. So much to learn. If I was only 40 years younger...

The 737 has to be my all-time favorite airplane, big thanks to you for the content you produce. I've been able to learn so much from you and increase the realism of my flights. Great content, keep it up! Best regards from Rheinland-Pfalz.

Hello, Love the videos. Quick question, are there any "first flight of the day checks" for the 737 you could run through to add a bit more realism for us who enjoy flying it? For example, I am an aircraft mechanic on the EMB 145 and the pilots have to do an AI systems check on the first flight of the day which is performed in the climb out.

I've learned a lot from your videos, which has significantly increased my enjoyment of the flight simulator. I'd love to see a video on how to maintain the centerline during landing. When looking at the runway and instruments, especially at night, how do you know you're perfectly aligned? It's like aiming with sights on a firearm - you align the front and rear sights with the target. While landing, the runway centerline acts as the front sight, but there's no rear sight. Is there a reference point on the instrument panel that I'm missing to help with centerline alignment?

Just a private pilot here, but following your analogy the near end of the runway is the rear sight and the far end is the front sight. You have to visualize the line connecting those points extending out to your position.

When flying on vatsim. Is it better practice to use managed or open descent in an airbus. Thanks for your videos.

I would never use lvl change in a climb. It’s really only used for descend and maintains in the terminal environment. Up at altitude alt INTV is better. I like to stay in VNAV on approach until G/S intercept, mostly because I like VNAV working the speed bug instead of me manually doing.

Here's a question I always asked myself that I'd love to have a video on: Why do different airlines regulate different procedures for the use of the same aircraft? (ie why does one Airline require pilots to fly an A320 in one way, whereas another airline requires them to fly the same aircraft in a different way?) This also is especially confusing to me when the manufacturer of an airplane makes recommendation to all airlines to adjust their policies or training material. Wouldn't it make more sense for all airlines to use the same procedures when its the same aircraft they're flying?

No, operating the same machine in different climates brings different operational requirements / restraints. Wing and anti ice will not be the same when flying out of Dubai vs Reykjavik. Just an example. Airspaces around the world are managed differently. EASA is different to FAA, CASA etc. It's like your car, it has a range of options to get you from A to B safely covering a range of conditions you are likely to encounter.
