Oranssi Pazuzu is one of those bands that are quite hard to get into. But oh man after you've gotten more familiar with them they just get more and more fascinating! I recommend to check out their " Valonielu " album, it's a bit easier to get into and more on the atomspheric/ ambient style imo. All their songs lyrics are Finnish, so that takes some time to get used to! Definetly one of the lore interesting bands right now in the scene.

And wait if you can see them live. They play LOUD. So loud that even some older metalheads said it was a bit too loud. It really wakes up feelings of cosmic horror in you to feel the blastwave of music vibrate through your body. Seeing this band live is one of the few times when ear protection is acceptable.

It's very refreshing to see an analysis of a vocalist that's in the black metal realm. I think black metal has actually become more artsy and experimental in the last 15 years and both vocalists and instrumentalists try so many new sounds. Discovered this band a few years back but I haven't listened to them that much, but after this video, I'll have to dig through their discography!

They're amazing, they really are. So good I've gotten every release by them on vinyl in the last 6 months or so. That said, they can be a bit like experiencing a psychotic mental illness. The psychedelia/repetitive hypnotic aspect is kind of nightmarish. For even more lunacy like that Wormlust. The feral wisdom. I read a description once that it was like a jazz band taking too much LSD, having a really bad, bad trip and recording it. But Iceland, so also summoning a demon. Seriously messed up black metal. Would be interesting to see a breakdown on that. Like Dave Hunt but with less of a sense of restraint.

If you want insanly good Black Metal vocals there are 2 bands I think you have to check out. Imperial Triumpant is adds a lot of jazz and blues into their sound. His vocals are very low and brutal. Swarming Opulance or Cosmopolis. The other you should check out is Mizmor. 1 man black/doom metal. There are things he does with his voice that I can't figure out. Desert of Absurdity or Serpent Eats Its Tail. I love so much what you're doing on this channel and it really makes me want to get more into doing vocals just cus. Keep up the dope work.

It’s indeed not polyrythmical, but it sounds more like very well executed shifting accent or phasing (didn’t go back to check wether there is an actual phasing cycle in there), things minimalist composers like steve reich or philip glass (among many others) mastered to such a degree you can obtain intense musical effects from doing hardly anything more than that. Thanks for your analysis by the way, I got here simply because I was blown away by this album, glad to learn about the singing techniques involved!

Wow this was mind blowing. I love this channel. Just from watching I've improved my technique substantially. I've taken a long hiatus from making music and I'm just getting back into it now. I've always been more into guitar but I decided to try vocals more recently. I went from not being able to do anything at all to trying to copy some Infant Annihilator vocals. Now I can kinda do a few techniques. I think I'm doing alright with high frys and low false cord. And I can slide between those decently I think. I've definitely picked up some tips on tongue placement and mouth shapes. I'd love to actually pay for lessons once I update my gear. Thanks for everything you do. Also, I'd like to suggest an older song if that's something people would be interested in. Dark Night of the Soul by Mayhem. I know it is like just typical generic black metal but the vocals from that track specifically give me chills and I'd love to hear your thoughts on it. Keep up the awesome work.

No vocals in the band, but check out Øresund Space Collective, shits crazy Dr. Space is the only guy whos in every album Each album is improvised, and he just either hires random musicians, or just trips and gets drunk with his homies for the shows But even the shows are improvised, and they record them as albums If you want more crazy black metal, that ide love to see you react to, in terms of vocals, Mare Cognitum

Great stuff, very interesting 😀 There's a live performance in some kind of studio/stage setting, without an audience of the whole album online, where you can see the main and secondary vocalists, which are also the two guitar players of this fivepiece. It's surprisingly close to the album, but still definitely live.

A little late to this, but this band is going on my discovery list. This song, and the couple I've listened to subsequently, are absolutely my cup of Lapsang Souchong. Also, I think the person/people who made this video don't like town planners? Thank you so much for the video and for introducing me to this band :)

If you're interested in those kind of high screams and you're already analyzing songs that you don't understand the lyrics of, I might suggest a real German underground gem. Aaskereia - Aus dem vereisten Unterholz verschneiter Wälder.

21:14 you write with your ears, more or less. instead of of pen and paper, start withthe reverbs that match your vision and then figure the segments out by weaving them around a / THE thing that plays out. instead of making a helicopter out of circle of fifths, you let your ears to pick the sounds and notes or forms of atonalities. there is no right way to do it but your ears will tell you when you´re doing it right... for you..

The pronunciation of the band name was nearly perfect. If you want to perfect it (which is quite unnecessary) put the pressure to letter O on the word oranssi (which is Finnish for colour orange) and even then in a very "flat" Finnish manner. The title "Uusi Teknokratia" translates to "New Technocracy", which is a wordplay (technology + democracy) and probably explains the video a bit more.
