As an Italian, I have been to at least one Laura Pausini concert. She is been the italian diva for me since I was a little girl and through my teens years. When I saw her on this stage with Lara Fabian, which I just descovered, I thought that Laura was about to been blown away... but actually NOT! They both were amazing to hear, I am glad that I forgot how powerful is Laura's voice. Thank you for this reaction!

Everything I've every seen lists Fabisn as a full lyric, which -- i dunno. She sounds like velvet. If she's a mezzo, I'll have to stop saying she's the only soprano I've ever truly loved. 😂 (My mom was a trained contralto basso, so I like deep, dark voices.) Laura has a nice voice and she is a great singer, but if you want to hear and see true masterclass on singing I would like to recommend Lara Fabian's performance singing 'Extrait de Yentl' on her live concert video titled 'Concert Pure'. She delivers an 8 minutes long masterpiece singing 'Papa Can You Hear Me?' and 'Piece of Sky'. I've never thought that anyone could do justice to Babs' incredible songs live until I saw Lara performing it in front of thousands of adoring fans. Many famous singers tried and fell short performing it outside a studio environment. She was 27 years old at the time and her parents were sitting in the audience celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary. Lara truly did magic that night, I'm her age, I'm a choir singer and I've been following her career over 25 years now, so I don't say that lightly. She was putting on a one-woman Broadway show during that 8 minutes. When she reaches the end of the piece belting out the famous last line "Papa watch me fly!" to her dad it's such a climax that even though I've watched it countless times over the years it still brings tears to my eyes.
