I love seeing you reacting/analysing Nightwish 😊 Fun fact: Nightwish has helped me deal with my anxiety and depression a lot better than my former therapist did in almost four years going to see her. I was born with spina bifida and later on developed hydrocephalus, this condition damaged some parts of my brain, which according to my neurologist have direct impact with my mood swings. I rediscovered Nightwish last year (used to listen to it here and there but nothing like now) every time I feel bad, whether be sad, anxious, or angry I grab my iPod and listen to Nightwish on repeat for hours until I fall asleep and feel a lot better afterwards

It would be really interesting to hear a technical breakdown of the things Floor does in that song. Also, I Want My Tears Back simply because of how much fun that song is and I know you will be grinning through the whole thing which I love to see. Love your reactions!

It's just Americans don't want to see music that isn't from their country. It's not really an "evil cooperations" thing, it's that Americans naturally have terrible music taste lol. American metal fans only listen to "hard heavy manly real metal!1!1!" Like the trash that is slayer and Pantera. If you introduce something melodic and progressive to them they'd say "it's clean vocals!1!1! That's gAy!1!1!1! Where's the 1010101010 riffs????" They don't care if a song actually sounds good or if the musicians are talented or not, they only care about what image the music they listen to would paint of them. They literally think their music taste=their personality and life purpose. And they try too hard to be "special" and "not like the other people who listen to pop trash!1!1!1!". That's why they'll never discover or like nightwish, they're too small minded for that. Ofcourse there are exceptions and people who are normal but the majority are like this. Thanks for coming to my rant.

Hi Mike....Helene here...You are saying exactly what my feelings have been for the past year. I am about a decade older than you....73.....and I was like 15 when the Beatles hit. I loved Zeppelin, Floyd, The Eagles, Van Halen......and then in the 90’s I got into that “boomers” mindset that says “no good rock since.......” and “all current music is crap”. So I listened to classic rock on satellite radio and played my old CD’s and albums. Then I discovered alternative rock in the nineties. I felt pretty smug. But THEN, about a year ago, I discovered youtube reaction channels, and discovered HOLY COW....Tool! Nightwish! Symphonic Metal! Grunge! Aurora! And it was GOOD. And I discovered Robert Plant’s solo career, with all the “world music” influences he incorporates... and “tribal” music like Helvegen.....Good Lord...there is SO MUCH good music out there....I wish I were young again just so I had more time to discover even more!

Sat and had beers very early 70s with Ronnie Dio after they played a local club in my hometown, bartender was my buddy, and after closing Dio and the band stuck around and had a few. Even took an outside break with them as well. :;-) . He was from a town just 30 miles north and when Ronnie Dio and the Elves, (later Elf) came to town, the places were always packed, saw them many, many times. Greatest male voice in Rock History in that tiny little Frame. Hey - I'm an old guy! :-)

Nuclear blast, their label, are really good with reactors. They know it's a way to spread the music to people who otherwise might not hear it. The only Nightwish song there might be a problem with is "Greatest show on earth" But that's not their fault. There's a rapper who sampled parts of the song, so it's his label that puts a copyright disclaimer on it.

I had the same experience as you did. I grew up in CA during the Age of Rock n Roll and thought I knew what it was all about. While not a total fan of Nightwish, I AM now a fan of the genre, Symphonic Metal. If you asked me a year and half ago that I would be into any kind of metal, I'd have looked at you as though you had two heads - I'm still listening to the classics from when I grew up in the 70's. The band that broke it open for me was Within Temptation. Do listen to their stuff - I'd start with Hydra and The Unforgiving. Sharon den Adel's voice is amazing and Robert Westerholt and Sharon are unofficially, arguably the King and Queen of Symphonic Metal. Give them a try, you won't be disappointed!!

Great reaction! You should try Ayreon - Everybody Dies (Live). I think you will be impressed! And prepare yourself for the surprise in the end!

If you want to hear Marco's voice a whole song .... try this one. Amazing vocals. And Floor back it up Nightwish - The Islander (Tampere)

Oh, I remember Claude Schnell. Yeah, he was pretty good as far as I can judge it.

I think you should take a look on solo album of Marko from last year. His voice is pure magic. He's one of the most underrated singers if you ask me.

I would really love to hear you react to a Yes song; Perhaps Awaken, or Starship Trooper

I think you'd really enjoy Jacob Lee's live work for songs with a lot of emotional depth - I highly recommend Demons from his Philosophical Sessions.

Marko "Another day in the office.. If it's worth doing, it's worth doing well!".. Recommend "High Hopes" by Nightwish - the Pink Floyd Tribute - from "End of An Era", live.
