I've had this thing for over 5 years and I've never used the looper, better late than never! While the damn thing still works is a testament to build quality of Tc products. Want the extreme 3 but lots more options now.

We are not all techno savvy and this is a very sophisticated machine we need TC Helicon tp produce a tutorial video that takes you all the way from beginner to expert it would be a good investment as it would encourage potential buyers to invest in the product

PS: I've been searching for more of your 'in-depth' discussion video's. This was the single best I've seen and it cut the time of my learning curve in more than half! Do you have any other tutorial demo's that "You" have done? I have not found the Tom Lang videos very helpful. They gloss over the top. I own a Voicelive 3 Extreme and I own a big recording studio, so I know a lot of products, brands and customer Support, I would like to say that TC Helicon has made a very nice product but 99% of TC Helicon videos have the intention of promoting and demo ing. I urge TC Helicon to have in there KZfaq Channel Tutorials well produced that take you progressively from A to Z for all of their products. It's a shame that TC Helicon customers who are looking to know how to actually perform and have fun with their product find out that there is very few and limited support for getting to know HOW TO. In Short: 1) You are excellent with products 2) You are excellent with promotion 3) You are excellent with demos of the product 4) Terrible with "How To" Support

I bought 1 TCHVL3 for my stage in my retail store and love the voice effects. In fact, I'm not good enough to play without it! So when I wore my UGG boots, I broke the plastic casing buttons, 6 in total. They sent me new ones and I had a tech guy replace for me each time. In the meantime I bit the bullet and bought another unit. Same thing happened without the UGGs. The first one started distortion on guitar after about 3 hours of playing so both are now at the shop. Neither is operational and both are in pieces at my tech guy's shop. Can't utilize looper on stage because way too many buttons to press and on top of that my wah, sustain, looper and distortion pedals won't operate through the TCHVL3, ever. It's a love/hate thing for me. I love the vocal effects but the menu is so complicated and cumbersom and advanced that I can't use it. Have a gig again and no functional TCHVL3 to use. My show is suffering. Seriously depressed after having spent so much money on two and constant repairs. I wish the videos stopped dicking around and show how to actually make it work with other pedals and not just default to heavy distortion. Was thinking of carrying the brand in my store, but as much as I love the vocal effects, can't justify spending another dime. Third party repair site is unworkable and threw away boxes so not valid. Feel like quitting my stage show because of TCHVL3, sorry to say.

This Tutorial was a LIFE saver! I was scratching my head and getting frustrated trying to figure some things out. Not sure if you covered this, ...once my song/loop is ending, is there a quick way to STOP everything (Don't want B to play if just have the option to Stop "A". Should I Re-Map the Step button for Loop Start and stop? or is that necessary? Also, where can I set the output level of the looper so it's not louder than my dry signal.

Hey Craig thank you for your manuals. I just got myself a Voicelive 3 extreme and now I'm trying to get all sorted out asap. I have a question, maybe you could help me? I use my stage piano (Nord Electro) through the AUX in, I can hear it perfect through the output, BUT I cannot Loop with it. When I loop with it I cannot hear anything. With guitar and vocals it works. But when I set the Loop Menu AUX Input I hear nothing and I cannot find a solution for this bug :(

I notice that once you change a slot, the next preset you use defaults to that slot. ie; the last slot you used. Is there any way to have all presets default to say channel 1 unless assigned? Otherwise if you only use a handful of slots, but often use the looper, the default from the last song is now the default for all, and then if like me, you have hundreds of songs, you have to assign a loop slot to every preset just so it defaults to your regular loop settings.

Thank you for that great tutorial I have some more questions about the looper I hope you can answer me : 1.i'm trying to save a looper definitions such as tempo and insert type to a specific slot . When I press "save" it says "no changes" and it doesn't save the definitions to that slot . How can I save those definitions? 2. Is it possible to store a whole loop slot into a song preset ? I am building a show which based on the looper and I want to prepare loops slot with deferent set up for songs that will load up with the song preset . Is it possible and how ? 3.i have one song which I record 2 loops. Loop A 2 bars long ( of 3 quarters) . Loop B 8 bars long( of 3 quarter) While loop A is playing , when I enter loop B , sometimes it start from the third (3) bar of that loop (B) and not from the beginning . The metronome is off and there is no sinc assistance . What could be the reason and how can I make sure it won't happen ? Thank you very much , I hope to get your respond . Ifat.

Is there a way to route the looper (and only the looper) to an 'out' plug ? It would permit me to send it to an independant track in my mixing desk, and send it louder to my drummer's monitor, so that he can follow it easely (that's the way I've been doing so far with my Looper, the excellent Echoplex digital pro +). So on point with all your tutorials :-) One question. I use the looper to lay a chord progression down and then just solo over it. When I w solo I have to exit the looper and choose a drive and/or delay to pronounce the solo sound. Which is fine, only takes a couple seconds, but often I will come back into the song after stopping the loop, but then have to hold the loop button down to access the main screen to then turn off the drive and delay, all while trying to sing at the same time. Is there a way around this? Thanks :-) Loving the VL3X.

Is there a way to change the titles of Presets or to copy presets from one to another? i.e. I have corona drive on preset 209 and want it to be on preset 1. The idea is to eventually have my whole set list for each song 1-48, listed chronologically, so all I have to do to get through the night is to click once to forward to the next song...

Could you please explain the looper functions you can use with Switch-6, it seems that the functions you get on the Switch-6 are different from the functions of the standard buttons on the unit (which makes the screen really confusing!)

Let's say that I know a song is in 93 bpm and I want to quantize the loops, I would like to dial in the metronome tempo to 93 direct because tapping the tempo can sometimes be hit-or-miss. Cheers.

I'm interested in buying the vl3 or vlx3. I have a question about the looper though. If I connect the vl3 to a real tube amp (just in front of it) using the guitar out to the guitar input of the amp I "bypass" the internal modelling and can use the tone of my real amp (right ?. ) In this constellation can I still use the internal amp modelling for live looping ? Simple example : I want to make (in looper mode)a loop with the rhythm guitar (chord progression ) of a song using one or more modelling tones from the vl3 that are sent to the pa. Over this loop I play a solo using the real tube tone (with the sound coming from this amp of course). Is this possible ?

Beyond the looper...i would like to know for pitch correction voice does the the TC3 has better corrrection mode than Voice 2? I gueese is most important the singer mode and what that machine can does for bring in to your voice in the harmony and pitch corrcection with the accords that you play!! Does the voice 3 has any differnce than voice 2?

Hi, i am thinking to buy the voicelive but i wonder if there is a "auto record" function on the voicelive 3? so that it can trigger recording according to the input level on the mic, just like the boss RC-300 does? if not, other alternative to avoid the click to be there constently? any suggetions?

I have an issue with the metronome changing bpm. I want to use the metronome during a backing track but you can’t in the VL3x. So i made the backing travk into a loop. I loaded the loop into an open slot, and set the tap tempo in looper metronome to 96 bpm. When i turn the met on, it suddenly changes to 141 bpm. Icant get the preset to save 96bpm. What am i missing here? Thanks to anyone who can answer!!

hi, I have been thru the book, and read all looper part 10 times, and couldn't find how to change the loop slot, now, after listening the entire video, there it is, you mentioned it, although it when real fast. and I had to replay 3 times to get it. the programming of this device is not intuitive at all, and the book could be improved, lots of confusion, specially if you do not read and memorize the hole thing. I wish there were an apps I could use on my computer to program the vl3 ex. thks

What is the fidelity/sample rate of the backing tracks and the recorder USB? I saw on a PDF download it says 24bit for backing tracks but the manual says 16bit, I think. And I haven't seen any numbers for the recorder? Could you list those please? Trying to make decisions! thanks!

In serial mode, is it possible to go from recording track A to playing track A and recording track B with only 1 button press? This is necessary If the chorus immediately follows the first verse... Going from recording track C to playing track A or B would also be needed for some songs.

hi mate when you say 1234 you notice that it doesnt come back in in time so you actually have to hit the button at exactly the right time for it to be in perfect time, as in if I beat box a beat, how do I quantise that?, also how do i changed the hold looper button to get the loop page to a quck tap on the step button cheers

Hi there, Are you guys familiar with the new BeatBuddy? I am seriously considering purchasing that and your VoiceLive 3 together. I've had a DigiTech Vocalist Live 3 for a few years now (which I love) but seeing your product has so many more features that I could use as well as the Looper (I wanted to add a high-end looper anyway) it would be amazing if the looper can synch with the BeatBuddy through midi so that vocal/guitar loops (made and triggered while the BeatBuddy is playing and continues to play) do not drift from the BeatBuddy. Does that make sense? (To be clear I would not be recording the BeatBuddy on the looper, it would be running on a different channel) IF this is possible it would make both purchases a no-brainer for me. and I bet a lot of other one man shows would be into both products as well. I am not super tech-savy to figure these things out myself so I am asking the sources.

The problem I'm encountering is that pressing and holding the Overdub button causes the loop to begin playing before it erases it. Basically, if it was a mouse button, you've got the overdub function set to be triggered by a mousedown event, when it should be set to mouseup (unless there was a "press and hold" event preceding it). Is there a way to map this differently so that pressing and holding a button erases the loop, but *doesn't* start playing it first. Hope that is clear.

If i want to delete a loop, it plays allways for a second. would be smarter to change that. Can i delete just the last overdum without distroying the full loop ? :)

Hi my VL3 plays my loops way louder than the guitar that I'm playing over the top. Can I change the volume of playback to be slightly softer than input? I've tried using the main mix volume controls and they make zero difference to what is coming out of the guitar output. If I plug my amp or pa into the headphone output the headphone mix volume controls work but I don't want to plug into amp or pa via this output and also the main mix volume controls should do something.

Dear friend if i connect my electric guitare and microphone both to VL3 and use just a headphones for listening (no amp,mixer...) can i hear all processed tones of my vocal and guitare sound on headphones.Someone talk that i can hear only guitare sound clear,no vocal and no processed voice ..so please help :)

HI, I just picked up vocal live 3 extreme. I notice when I am looping.. the playback is quieter than the actual live sound. Is there a way to increase volume on the recorded loop?

one more thing, why cant I record and over dub with a BT? I could have someones BT(digital format) I could add a guitar, or a vocal on it.

Heyya, so, say if i'm looping on track A and I already did a few things, but I keep f*cking up a third layer... can I erase only this third layer on the one track, or do i always have to erase the whole track so that I have to record every layer again every time I make a mistake?

there has to be another way to pick a tempo??? say I want 125 bpm or 126bpm...do I have to count that out with my feet or can I turn a knob and get exactly what I want at a fast pace. we should be able to select an exact tempo and do it fast. thanks the guy that has a hard time counting : )

When are you guys going to add a MIDI time clock to the software update? I play with a Boss DR 880 drum machine, I can't use the looper unless it is synced to the drum machine thru MIDI.

Graig y receive my vl3 y was happy and when y begin to change presents to know them but only from 1 to 16 is possible to run, from the preset 16 jumps immediately to preset number 124 "talkbox", nothing is in between 16 and 124 the last. May be y have done something wrong but y havent touch nothing, or may be y have to get the presets from the web page dont know? when y open voicesupport in the window place where is preset name, up, is not working neither firmaware window both they are unlighted, can you give an advice pleas!!! y am praying nothing wrong only my unskillness...... thanx for your time

When I hold the record button to erase the loop it plays the start of the loop before erasing, that's just not acceptable for live use! Please fix at the next firmware update if possible.

I find it counter intuitive to press and hold Utility button to swap between B & C but only tap it to enter the modify menu it should be the other way around usually all menus on devices are press and hold and just tap for the function you would use in performance I would not use the B C swap because of this can you change it plz

Ableton Live and the loopers of Boss have a default quantization per bar instead of quantize per beat. I think quantize per beat is not user friendly enough, makes it harder for new users to get used to using a looper. I can understand why TC Helicon loopers miss this option because for a quantize per bar one needs to specify a time signature which isn't available as an option in TC Helicon loopers. The workaround for this is to record an empty loop with the desired number of beats in preparation for a performance and save it to a slot. When performing live one can load the slot and overdub directly on the empty loop. Ableton Live is the absolute winner when it comes down to comfortable looping. When you have the Push or Touchable on iPad, there is the option to define the number of bars of your loop before you start recording. You don't have to worry about setting the end of the loop while recording. And there is a precount before starting the recording which is also really comfortable. Bitwig Studio even has the option of a fixed length for a loop without having to use an expensive midi controller like Push or an iPad app!

when they go to upload videos in Spanish on KZfaq channels? KZfaq translations are bad and if you do not understand, though I try to learn self-taught, I can not.

My VL3 looper has random gaps within the loop dreaming it useless. TC-Helicon are very slow replying to my emails about it and when they do they have no answer except to ask if its still under warranty which it isn't. If you are thinking about buying the VL3 make sure you fully test it while you can still send it back. I wish it was what they claim but it's not sorry.

It sounds nice but it is way too complicated. I have been trying to unlock the metronome tempo for a month now. It is always locked, couldn't find anywhere the tutorial on how to fix it.
