I have the VL3 and I have some entire songs {minus my parts} that I imported and the tempo guess got the tempo very wrong... tried to manually adjust but now its locked... I'd like to share a work around for anyone who runs in to the same problem... What i did was set bpm in any given loop-slot and recorded a loop on loop B and saved the changes to the slot... then I went to the preset entered the loop menu and assigned that slot to the preset.. then import track to loop A and save changes... this way the correct tempo is already locked in the slot and the tempo guess dose nothing... don't forget to delete loop B and save... Wouldn't it be lovely if we developed a software interface to drag and drop loops or tracks and then just click on the pedal we want to trigger them, unplug the unit and spend the rest of our time playing music...? PS. why is there not a 2.0.01 revised manual in English for the VL3...?

This is the best product you can buy. I wish they would bring a VL4 out with a top editor and better screen it would be amazing.

Is there any way to change the imported loop tempo direct from the voicelive 3. Let me explain better say I have a drum loop at 85 and I want to use it with different tempo like 110 for another song. Thanks to anybody that help me here with my question.

Hey, Roger. What I'm getting at, Is let's say you import all 50 slots. Then you decide to delete those 50 slots and replace them with other loops. I don't think when you delete a loop from a present , it gets deleted from the loop slot. Or does it? Thx, Steve.

Wow. Great new feature. Great video. BTW: Tried Setlistmaker to automate VL3X. Setlistmaker is really great for viewing lyrics and sheet music live, but no so good for automation. The VL3X does it better.

Hello someone can help, how do I build loops and put those in different presets & save those to perform different song. Like backing tracks. Can I save each different loops in different presets & recall them .No one showed that yet in any video

I posted this question over on the TC forum to mostly crickets, so I thought I'd ask it here since my question is in regard to loops and backing tracks. For my current rig I'm using a Harmony GXT pedal for harmonies, and I have a Digitech Jamman Stereo I use for loops and backing tracks. I use a Line 6 Helix for guitar tones, so I don't need any additional guitar modelling or effects. I'm wondering if switching to either the VL3 or VL3E could replace both of these for me. My concern is pretty much with how it handles loops. I know for the vocal effects it eclipses the GXT pedal in every regard. Right now the way I use the Digitech Jamman is that some tracks are backing tracks that I just play along with, and others are broken into loops. Some songs are multi part loops stored on different presets. For example I'll have a loop for the intro of the song, then I'll switch to an 8 or 16 bar loop for the middle and play over that until I decide it's time to end the song,then switch to the ending loop. Right now I just put these each in their own preset slot in the Digitech and scroll between them on the fly. Each loop plays until the end of the loop and then switches so I don't have to worry about the timing of switching loops mid song. Basically I can hit the switch for the next loop and it doesn't actually switch until the current loop reaches the end. Which is nice. So for backing tracks I'm sure the VL3E could handle it no problem, but I need to know if I can store loops in a way to switch between them during a song easily. If so whether or not one loop finishes playing before the other one starts so I don't have to switch at just the right moment while trying to play and sing at the same time. Can the VL3 or VL3 Extreme do this sort of thing pretty easily? Does the VL3E offer more space/slots for loops/backing tracks? I understand that loops and backing tracks are stored spereately in the VL3E correct? The VL3 only does loops. On the VL3 is there a limit to how long a loop can be? Sorry to ask so many questions, just want to try and get informed before making a purchase. Thanks!!

I have TC Helicon Play Acoustic for a year or more. It was a great device! Just recently, the unit acts strange. It turn on OK, but suddenly it just HANG/ FREEZE. Display is ON, stuck with all buttons and knobs not working. Also it can not detect input sound, no output either. I have tried to RESET, and also updated the unit with latest firmware via VoiceSupport. The problem still happens after a couple of minutes ON. Any suggestions? Please help!!!

Very clear tutorial, thanks for that - is it possible on a given loop track to mute the guitar and/or vocal parts of a loop separately on VL3 with an assignable button (I know I could do it externally)? That would effectively give 6 loops in some cases.

Please help. I've followed all the instructions and I've gotten to the point where the screen says "import complete" but when I hit the looper button there's nothing there. Can anyone advise me please?

Hello Craig and/or Tom. I have the latest VL3X and the latest firmware (build 355 2.1 I believe). I mainly use this unit for solo gigs using MP3 backing tracks and for vocals (as I'm a sax player). The unit works flawlessly. However, there is one firmware addition is like to suggest. Is there ANY chance that you'll add a feature to the VL3X that if you're playing MP3 or WAV "Backing Tracks" that you'll be able to change the actual "key" of the song on the Backing Track? I know that the Roland BK-7m (my old unit) used to have this capability and it was seamless. Any chance you guys could add this feature for we solo artist/vocalists?

No matter what I do 3 different computers p, all settings both in the computers and a voicelive 3 Extreme voice support will not connect and I cannot backup or update firmware. Is there another way to backup?

Is it possible to import three different sections of one song into the three Loop slots and Trigger then not as looping sections but just as play to end and wait ? Question - This video was made in 2015 - it's 2021 now : I want to buy the VL3X but with the Switch 6 : but can anyone confirm that we can control the looper with the Switch 6? In the beginning it wasn't the case, but 6 years later, this might have been fixed? So what I basically want to do is have the Switch 6 to set up my 3 loop channels that are in the VL3X so that they are always ready to go. If that cant be done, the other solution is to have the VL3X in loopermode all the time and to have my voice / guitar effects mapped to the Switch 6. Does anyone have a correct answer to this? It's hard to find info on this question.

Hello Craig. I have a voice live 3 and I really like it. I only miss one drop, it would be very interesting to add this effect to instruments on it. when I plug my guitar in the VoicelivePlay aux input automatically ignores the manual Key Scale that I put . my question is, the voicelive3 is same?. Because I do not like that of my voivelivePlay, I want to connect my guitar and That does not Affect the manual scale in my presets. It is possible in the voicelive3 ? Can i buy the VoiceLive 3 and be happy with that ? Thanks!

I’m about to buy this pedal (The Extreme) on Zzounds. It comes with a free digitech expansion pedal. So with me doing that, will that allow me to free up more pedal on the Voicelive 3 Extreme itself or will it just give me more options on the extension pedal, and will the options show up on the screen? Can you import you presets from another unit (play electric) to VL3x

I just wasted HOURS trying to import tracks to my VL3X per your instructions here at 2:30 to put them in a folder titled VL3_Loops - apparently this is outdated information. I went through 6 USB sticks trying to format for FAT32 and it was always greyed out, so I didn't even think my only issue was this folder name! Turns out it CAN'T be in any folder...

So internal resolution of VL3X is 16 or 24b/48kHz ?

Thanks for the tutorial! One question... this happened on my VL3 and now still on my VL3X when I hold the harmony button to set the key/scale there is a glitch and sometimes it will only let me scroll through MIN1,2&3 and other times only MAJ1,2,&3 - and also you can't UN-select setting a key (I know you can move to another preset to not save the "set key"). Also, let's say I set the key to CMAJ1, when I enter back into the set key screen it's starts on a different key (random all the time it seems). Is this a universal glitch? I've tried fooling around with the set key, but haven't found where it would be useful... it seems it doesn't then listen to the chord I'm playing (in the key of the song) but rather just sticks to that SCALE... Any thoughts on all this?

I have VL 3, just purchased from Sweetwatr. There is ony one tab, "Store" showing when I open the Store button. although thumb drive with folder labeled VL3_Loops, containing a WAV drum file, is in place. Nothing shows but "Store". Did you not say the VL3 will import?

Dear Craig. I am not exactly a technical boff and am trying my best to follow. I have created my own acoustic template in bank 255. I want that open to create loops on the fly live; hence setting my own tempo. So I copied and stored that template to bank 256 cause I wanted to import a loop into that 256 bank. I followed the import steps. The loop got stored in slot 1....now I go to bank 255 and the loop is in that bank too. Please help a gal out! So confused. Also, is there no way to just have bank 255 as your template and then scoot from slot 1, 2, 3 etc .... those slots being the loops per song? Or must you create separate banks for separate songs?

Hello, I've got update version 2.1.01 build 355 and VoiceSupport is not showing that there is another available update. However, I am not able to save my slot selection to my presets. Every time I go to a new song, I have to go into the Looper and select the appropriate slot for that song, which is pretty difficult to do when you're trying to talk to an audience, or when you're trying to flow from one song to another. On TC-Helicon's news page regarding the update, they say that one of the fixes was, "Selected loops can be loaded with presets." Why is this not working? I save my selecting slot in the Looper, and I save my preset, again, after I leave the Looper, but when I go to another song it always plays the last selected slot, not the slot I tried to save for that song. Did the 2.1.01 update drop this option and if so, is there a way to revert back to the 2.0.01 that you refer to in this KZfaq video?

Is there a way to delete the loop out of the slot, you know slots 1- 50 or are they permanently there.

As in, I set the correct tempo, but when I play it, it says "TEMPO LOCKED" and reverts to the wrong tempo.

So what if it completely guessed the tempo wrong? For example if I have a whole track in loop mode, so I can play drums and sing, and hear click... When I tap tempo to fix it, it just reverts to the wrong auto-tempo when I play it....

Hi! I have a voicelive 3 extreme, and it doesn´t recognize any loop track. I´ve followed every step, I´ve created the folder, saved the tracks in many .wav qualities, and I tried to format the USB stick via mac and PC either. I´m desperate. What else can I do?

so I now have the V3extreme...question: if you use a preset and add a backing tract with it...can you rename that preset and then keep the preset with it's orig settings. This is going to be awesome man!

I can't find the LOOP import. All I see in the Store Menu is the TRACK IMPORT

interesting settings on loopers and pre sets. but;what about up/down volume control on the loop data vs your live playing. bring in a loops with adjustable volume ; live on the fly ! Same problem many audio video editing programs have. overlays with music,audio, live need real volume control on each .. live- with foot vol. pedals. Yes.. we want it all easily !

Hi guys, excellent video, but, I'm having trouble with sync tempo. For instance, I have sample setted in 102 BPM, when I import to voicelive 3 the tempo isn't correct at all. I want to play some samples with the metronome on, and since it's automatically setted by voicelive 3 I couldn't changed manually to sync the met with the sample. Sorry the poor engish. The loop import on my VL3 has NEVER worked. I've tried several name brand USB sticks. No dice. The USB will output power to my android pad though. Unresolved.

I miss a drum machine or drum patterns, voicelive 3 owners buy beatbuddy's or buy a RC 300 because the have drumpatterns. It would be a golden upgrade if voicelive would build in drumpatterns, that would make the voicelive 3 absolutly the best option for an allround looping station without the need of any external pedals.
