Voice Play always stays true to the original while putting their own little twist to it. There was originally one little boy/girl running in the house to hide. I love how Layne made the sound affects of the child running to find a place to hide. The makeup used for Lauren was amazing. Layne's makeup & costume are amazing as well. They sure know how to explain to the makeup artist what they want & he delivers it better than anyone else could do.

i mean first thing i noticed was our choice in computer chairs is the same, because i have the same as you, and it's amazing! second off, i think your knowledge of music and voiceplay/acapella, is immaculate. great video :)

Great reaction! I love how you appreciate the work that went into this and the skill it takes to execute. One of my favorite things about this song is Geoff’s super-agile bass line towards the end. He’s all over the place. Also that THICK C#1 at the end of the outro, along with that lovely Thurl Ravenscrofty laugh. For giggles, I would love to see you react to The Bass Gang’s version of the same song, also featuring Lauren Paley. Very different, but also really good. Voiceplay even posted a comment.

My favorite thing is new reactors to Voiceplay and to Geoff. This reaction was great! Kudos for the voiceover when you realized that you were wrong, and I appreciated the analysis. The contrast between this one as well as In the Hall of the Mountain King and their I Can't Make You Love Me is amazing. They can do anything. Far and away, my favorite acapella group. Subscribed in anticipation of more Voiceplay and Geoff (and maybe some Pattycake Productions?).

Really glad to see another vocalist doing analysis - it's my favourite thing. I learn something new every time I watch one of these - whether it be from yourself, Peter, Elizabeth, Jennifer or Mortius. There's always some extra thing that I missed or didn't fully appreciate. Doing great, Drew! Looking forward to the interviews, too!

VP called her and asked if she would do a full version with them. She said yes. Layne got on a plane for Nashville and Lauren. They got a green screen and did her part there, Layne got back on a plane and got back to Orlando just before Hurricane Ian hit there. Close. Elizabeth from the Charismatic Voice did the voices for the zippy ghosts toward the end. Of course they have been schooled by Disney and Universal theme parks and shape their own videos for maximum effect. This one took the Disney theme of The Haunted Mansion with the appropriate characters. By the way, as long as Lauren was doing this one, the Bass Gang approached her and she did a version with them. Check it out. For a royal treat, check out VP's In the Hall Of the Mountain King featuring Elizabeth Garozzo who Geoff met while working at Disney. She is the ethereal voice in VP's Frozen 2 - you don't see her but you do hear that gorgeous voice. You get both in the Hall of the Mountain King. Absolutely terrific - trolls, cauldron's, potions and items tossed in the cauldron which changes the voices and tempos. It is glorious, particularly for a piece of music from 1875! Geoff actually addresses the subject and how to do it on his couple of videos on How To Sing Really Low.

Thanks very much for this reaction.You need to check out the Bass Gang. They also did this song together with Lauren Paley. Definitely a more creepy version,but equally good. VoicePlay praised the Bass Gang on their version of it in the comments.
