She was the first commander I ever built a deck around nearly 6 years ago. She's really great when you get her going, but struggles if your opponents aren't running decks with many creatures.

Glissa the traitor is my most updated and longest running commander deck. I’ve had her for 6 years now, absolute bomb. Combine that viridian longbow with thornbite staff and you have a combo that wipes your opponents’ boards of all non-indestructible creatures

I made a awesome glissa deck a year or so ago. Had to take it apart because it was so oppressive against everyone's creatures. I mean the list of cards that she's broken with is so long. Especially mindslaver.

Used her in a g/b Legendary/-1/-1 counters modern deck that eas pretty tight. It was ALWAYS a treat to ever draw and cast her. First Strike + Deathtouch really is the king of combat setups beyond stacking some combo of protection/hexproof/indestructible. Bet she rocks in commander.

I had a glissa deck a while back but it had an issue where either I combo'd off early and won easily or didn't get out of the blocks and was a non-factor the whole time.

It’s an awkward deck to play on the whole. I had her built for several years and tuned it pretty well. Unfortunately a lot of games the deck durdled and did very little. The games where she stuck were better but it still was Durdley. She needs a lot of games to understand where all the tuning goes.

Sure looks a lot better than i can imagine she actually is. Do you go combo? Value? Combo would surely give the best utility of that effect, being able to recur LED and things like that, but then how many creatures will your opponents have? Value wise, maybe as the boss creature in an aristocrats artifact deck, but I’m sure there are better commanders for that.

@@DrewskiTheLegend generally you’re going to go value/board control because you need there creatures to die. Ideally, you have artifacts that sac for some great effects to keep parody and disrupt opponents, then later when creatures start exploding you start to reap extra benefits and you pull really far ahead. When this works it’s really powerful. When it doesn’t, it just Dursley’s too much

Underrated for sure, but NOT easy to sit back and play. It's on you to catch every return trigger for each of your opponents' creatures dying, so you never really get a break from paying active attention to the board. Speaking from experience with my own Glissa deck, she's a ton of fun but can be pretty exhausting in long games, which her ability actively encourages. I personally recommend her for strategies that aren't artifact-centric, and using her as an advantage engine to recur artifacts for ramp/card draw/interaction that supports said gameplan

Started playing in battle for zendikar and found her around a couple of weeks from release in a trade folder in my lgs. She is my favourite and most powerful Commander deck I’ve ever built!

Glissa used to be my commander for my golgari infect deck, using its recursion to pull back my infecty artifact creatures from the grave. Worked great as a dissuasion from attacking into too.

Synergizes greatly with Commander's Sphere. Even if you don't have a way, just wait 'til something's going to die, then tap/sac in response. Free mana, free card!

Use something like a ashnods alter and a 2 or less cmc artifact creature and something like grave pact to keep your opponents boards clear and potentially make infinite mana if it’s one or less.

Glissa was one of my favorite characters form the books, I was alittle sad they turned her into a bad guy, but I like using her newer version in both standard and commander.

Been rocking a Glissa deck for about 7 years now and she's by far my favorite. I made it cheap ($20) with only a couple upgrades since then and I like that deck more than my $1,800 sliver deck. Glissa is just as feared in my playgroups as slivers, Brago, and Chulane.

@@brockmckibben637 The plethora of repeatable kill and removal effects like Executioner's Capsule, Viridian Longbow, Thornbite Staff, and Sylvok Replica give you a lot of control over the board. Mindslaver is probably the best card in the deck but if anyone even thinks you're running in the deck you'll likely be agroed out by the table. The baubles (Mishra's Bauble, Urza's Bauble, Wayfarer's Bauble) are phenomenal in the deck since you can repeat them. I run KCI with the regular culprits Chromatic Star and Chromatic Sphere as well. Between KCI and Ashnod's Alter you're going to get tons of mana. With that mana I like to run Nim Deathmantle for near infinite recursion on Glissa. Myr Retriever, Junk Diver, and Scrap Trawler are must haves for even more recursion on your artifacts. I run Factory Inspector, Jhoira's Familiar, and Mycosynth Golem for mana reduction; you could also run Inspiring Statuary. If you have trouble with your opponents lands then Exploration + Strip Mine + Crucible of Worlds is a nasty little combo. Disciple of the Vault is a decent aristocrats piece and there's another creature that'll gain you 5 life when an artifact is destroyed, but I try to mainly run artifacts in my deck. Disk and Oblivion Stone are decent repeatable board wipes and they don't hurt you as bad as your opponents thanks to Glissa. Shimmer Myr is cheap flash outlet. Dictate of Erebos is a solid pick, but Butcher of Malakir is a more budget friendly option; I wouldn't recommend Grave Pact as much. The goal of my Glissa deck is to control the board and to make incremental progress through repeatedly using good sacrifice artifacts out of my graveyard. Though I did have the deck done to a consistent turn 5-7 win at one point. I believe turn 3 is the earliest possible win with a Glissa deck.

@@brockmckibben637 Definitely feels good to get Thornbite Staff and Viridian Longbow though. Just gives you full control of the battlefield and recurring whatever you want. That combo with Mindslaver basically just says you win the game.

Been playing her since I started playing magic a few years ago, built her about 7 different ways. The strongest being Glistacks with Winter Orb, Tanglewire and Smokestack. Usually the win condition is something like Marionette Master or Citadel de Bolas

Glissa is essentially just an underpowered Muldrotha, this is probably why she is as underplayed as she is.

It's hard to beat Larhril in the command zone but I do use glissa and Longbow in my deck. Lots of elves with deathtouch. My favorite is to combo scattershot archer with Saryth the viper fang it annihilates all flyers and keeps them off the board. Also Saryth is just good in elves even though itself is not an elf.

I have a deck with this combo and thornbite staff, so tap for viridian longbow to kill with deathtouch, then thornbite staff triggers, untapping her. no more enemy creatures. I'm not allowed to play this deck anymore.

Love my glissa deck! Currently running a higher casual build with bolas, top, and aetherflux as one win con. Another is inf LTB effects with KCI loops and disciple of the vault as back up. And third, mind slaver locks. No fast mana or expensive mana rocks. I was running higher cmc cards like steel kite, Liliana Deadhorde, marionette master, etc. the deck was kind of inconsistent. I recently took those cards out for lower cmc cards. Waiting to test to see how it goes. Anyone have deck list that works wonders for them? Please share! 💚🖤 this commander!

the reason why she's underrated is because other colors do the artifact idea better mainly blue but other colors can use artifacts better like darreti or sahiel or emry

Really depends on the board…if ur playing 3 combo decks power lvl 9 she’s awful if it’s casual she’s decent gonna be tons of creatures hitting the graveyard

Glissa is an aristocrat commander. For extra fun with her, use mycosynth lattice, grave pact, and a sac outlet like phyrexian/ashnod's altar in addition to myr retriever and now your opponents have no creatures ever unless they get rid of your other pieces first! She ain't underrated, just a salt factory.

Underrated? She was meta at the time. Ridiculously strong and easy to bring out with the lands that read "If you have 2 or less lands"

Underrated? There's like 5-7 glissa decks at my local card shop on commander nights. She shows up in almost every pod. Also don't forget about nemesis mask. It forces all creatures that are able to block, block glissa. Stick another artifact or enchantment on her that gives her +2 and she becomes a consistent source of board clearing. Throw helm of the host on her to have a wall of unstoppable blockers.

@@pedroruiz6719 i run marrow gnawer and like 30 rat colonies. I out pace more decks in damage by a lot really early. By turn 4 I usually have 20 damage on board. Does that compete with top tier decks? If they have a bad start, maybe. But when I built it it cost me like 70$. Does it clean house at the card shop if no one's got a bord clear. Yes. In 1v1 the only decks I've found to be faster are krinko kingpin and mono blue wizards. That was like a 1400 dollar deck though.

@@john050994 on a budget I guess u are all right Also if u have some spare time, look for mono black sidisi edh, it runs add nauseam +tendril combo, I'm pretty sure it works with out the usual expensive cards Pros : reliable win condition while defending with discards and a ton of chump blockers Cons: glass cannon that goes off at turn 5 =/

She's not really underrated. Glissa is definatly a good card and like any Commander you can build a good deck around her (if you invest some money), but she has a hard time competing with the new wave of overtuned Commanders. Her value is pretty slow and clunky compared to what others bring to the table right away and Golgari doesn't have a ton of synergies with artifacts to begin with.

She actually sucks. If the artifacts went into play, good, into the hand is not great. Medium-low tier at best. Decent combo with her is Forbidden Orchard and engineered plague.
