These are fun to watch. A while off, but be interesting to see how mk8 golf GTi moves it's own goal posts past this more focussed variant of mk7.5. keep up the great work

There are 2 wheel and tyre combinations for the TCR ,the one you were using was for the road the other uses Pretoria wheels fitted with Michelin Cup 2 tyres which may have made a difference on track.I own a TCR and just use it for road use , which is fun and involving to drive.I think you are right it would need some mod’s to make it a true track car.I think it may become a future VW classic as they are quite rare ,even here in the UK. It would be nice to see you compare it with the Golf R on the same track to see if the 4 wheel drive gives much advantage over the front wheel drive . Thanks great review.

@@JoJo-en7bn I am sure the Cup 2 tyres would make a big difference, grip is just a benefit everywhere and can transform a car on the track.

Any chance we can have at least one “foot-cam” video of Chris’s driving? I’m always curious if he has his left foot on the brake all the time when driving an auto car.

In road cars I use my right foot, but race cars my left. Its like each foot is dialled to the feedback and feel difference. We just did some foot-cam for some of the new reviews, so you will see me trying to heal toe as well in the manual cars.

Well done Chris! So would it be fair to say it seems like it is not quite focused enough for a proper track use but more focused than a regular GTi for normal roads. A bit of both worlds?

I think your spot on there, it is a nice step over a standard GTi, but always hard for most road cars to take a good beating on a track.

@@chrisatkinson7431 which feels better on track hyundai say fastback despite the increase of 12kg but you are a professional there are things u can sense and feel as u drive that ordinary folks can't

VW/Audi does a bit too much sound-engineering on their cars for my taste. Just sounds artificial and kinda wanna-be imho. But i really love this red pinstripe in the grill that extends into the headlights, looks so nice!
