What a frustrating experience! At least in my 2018 Jetta, those plastic screws are on so tight that there was no way I could unscrew or pry them out without destroying them, so I just left them in place and yanked down the foam piece by force. Then I discovered that the gasket on the STP cabin filter I bought is over twice as thick as on the original VW filter, so there's no way I could get that black retaining piece to go back on securely after I installed it, even after several minutes of contorting and straining myself to try to force it to clip into place. So I had to rip out the new filter and shove back in the original filter, which will have to do until I can get an OEM VW or MANN filter to replace it.

I put this Mann filter in my MK-6 Sportwagen last year and it's definitely heavier. This year, I opted for a cheaper brand, TYC 800015C. It's carbon impregnated but the filter medium is much thinner and it significantly improved my a/c airflow. If you're in a hot area like me, get the cheaper filter...you'll thank me later

How often do you fill up your adblue? because I have a 2013 tdi where you don't need to add any wondering if I should upgrade.

We've struggled with that stupid plastic cover on our car for about a year now. every now and then we kick it and it falls off. I wish they put a screw on it. We'll probably just tape it up or something but our mk6 didn't come with the felt cover like you show in this video.
