from interviews though it's quite obvious that isayama saw eren and mikasa as a familial relationship. he also said historia is a character that's necessary to the plot and that the story may revolve around the theme of 'surpassing the father' referring to eren and historia's situation with their fathers. also AnR theory must have been the original ending given that the ending we got is sort of a reverse AnR. and have you noticed that in 139 historia and her daughter inherited eren's eyebrows while farmer kun inherited his clothes that he wore in path? i think it's isayama's way of telling us what the original ending was but even so i can't forgive him for robbing us of kino. eren should have won, paradis should have been saved, and the children should have been out of the forest, not wondering into one fully armed.

good analysis, and i very much agree with the random romance shoved down our throats in this last chapter. I never thought eren was in love with mikasa and i also STILL do not think that eren is in love with mikasa. I think it’s rather eren views mikasa as possession. In the entire time when mikasa and eren knew each other, mikasas whole world revolved around eren and eren knew this. When armin gave eren the idea that mikasa could moved on he went crazy n had a fit. Eren is selfish and even sent mikasa that AU in 138 to make sure she never moves on as well. It’s definitely a toxic relationship and clearly not something to be romanticized. and I also believe mikasa suffers from codependency

Another thing . Isayama said in his interview he only added eren whining over mikasa as a last min thing to ch139 because he wanted one more whiny eren crybaby moment before he died . IThe retconmaster better give us that aoe

I really tried to make myself believe Mikasa actually moved on but I failed when I see her coming with husband, children and grandchildren to visit the shrine she made out of her most beloved and dear grave and now that it revealed the roses mean You are the only one/I only have you/Nothing will come between us/I won't change my feelings until I die and dying with the scarf is so exaggerated! Imagine being her husban or child. The only thing I disagree with you is that I'd rather her husband be some unknown dude than a good character who actually cared about her being treated like this. I mean Jean is the jelous type and wheter it's jean or not whoever her husband is will still be hurt of reminding constantly and everyday that he is not her most beloved and dear and not her only one so yeah I'd rather another dude being treated like this.

Hacksayama is now an official liar he said aswell that eren views mikisa as a mother figure but guess he also lied . Retconned eren and historia pregnancy subplot Lied on his interviews about everything. Retconned eren themes and others. Ruined eren his mc my bad mikisa is his mc ruined his story for no reason. It’s attack on ackernans or attack on retcon the fumbling arc was a waste of time. All the alliance chapters since the fumbling arc started , the dialogue between them and others has no logic in it . It’s so stupid and just lack sense
