It's nice that you admitted the disappointing nature of not understanding Spanish as well as you had thought! I feel the same way with certain accents and slang. Learning Mexican Spanish, when I went to Spain...it was definitely supe different. It can be so frustrating!! It was nice to see that someone feels the same way as I do.

Can't believe this! I have been watching you for a while now, and suddenly you post a video traveling to my native archipelago! Hope you enjoy all islands (P.S. don't forget to visit Gran Canaria!). Looks like you are having an amazing time :)

You should also visit mainland Spain, there is a lot to explore. I am sure if you push yourself your confidence will grow and if you go outside the cities often you have no choice but to speak Spanish or use hand signals :) Mi español es malo :)

Hi, first time commenting on your channel. :) That's so interesting! I felt exactly the same. I traveled to Tenerife last year and felt much more motivated to learn Spanish after coming back. I guess I wasn't confident enough about my spanish level when I was there and thought I couldn't improve my spanish in a short time anyways, so just not motivated to practice as much as i'd like 🙈 Totally agree that our the altitude is what matters. Now I'll continue to learn Spanish, and Look forward to my next trip to Spain :))

Happy to see the vlogs are back! Don't feel bad about not using much Spanish. The transition from learning to being in a Spanish speaking country is difficult. Plus the Spain accent is SO HARD. You're going back with the right attitude and I bet you'll be surprise with how much your Spanish grew while you were away.

speaking with spanish speakers for extended lengths of time can be frustrating/feel embarrassing or more make me more self-conscious about my spanish too, so i understand the increase in motivation after you were home compared to in the moment but you're awesome and i'm glad you got that motivation back!
