Hi, if you don’t have a scrap engine to take pots from, how easy is it to buy new and what would they cost?. Thank you for a really interesting video.

I haven't bought new ones for the Volvo however I have ordered specific sizes for motorcycles. I looked on Rock Auto and they had them but only in one size.

Good video sir, I would like to know what will happen if the valve lash are not adjusted? My car won’t start and I’m suspecting this could be the problem because the head was rebuilt
@griesserperformance78019 ай бұрын
If there is no valve lash/clearance the valve will not close if the lash is excessive you will have a very noisy tapping valve train. I would recommend checking compression before disassembling anything. Good luck with it 😁

Thank You, I did the compression test and the compression was low . I was asking what are the specs for the adjustment please I want to try and fix mine😂 Thank You

@@ishmaelbaloyi did your timing belt pop off? if so your engine is toast and you need new valves. its not just an adjustment. if you have low compression you have issues in other places

Easy? Not all of us have a spare head to cannibalize lifters, much less a valve grinding machine in our garage!

This is really, really good! Question: it is possible to change buckets to hydraulic ones? So we can end the adjustment one and for all 😅
@griesserperformance7801 Жыл бұрын
I don't know that the oil supply in the head would be adequate to support hydraulic valve lash adjusters. Once adjusted the solid bucket should be good for life.

@@griesserperformance7801 It will not last for life. The exhaust valves are sinking deeper into their seats over time because they are getting lot more wear due to higher temperatures and subsequently more expansion/contraction related seat wear. I would say it might be good for 100k miles but after that gaps should be checked. Because the very moment the exhaust valve will fail to close completely there will be a catastrophic failure within minutes.

Very true this engine has not proven to be as durable as my Toyota that's for sure at that point I will just put another head together and replace it. Fortunately due to the common automatic transmission failures there are many engines available.@@NilsJakobson

Ffs it is not simple at all check honda valve adjustment... And yes people still complain about Hondas... I like my Volvo but that is shit. Propably not as bad as Nissan but o fuck it...

Are you talking Honda motorcycle or car?

@@griesserperformance7801 A car F20B6 For example easy setup. I did not want to critisize just got dissapionted to what extend you have to strip the engine to do this. I know that is not a unique design but it is not easy at all to do.

@@dariuszjanowski8224 it's cool no offense taken, that's being a mechanic some engines are much more complicated than others. I'm really a Toyota guy I prefer the 3sgte and 4ag. I've worked on lots of Honda B and H series. Happy wrenching.
