►Changing your Volvo's oil on time is one of the best things you can do as an owner to extend its life. Engines need clean oil to perform without generating excessive wear, and prolonging the change can have dire consequences. Replacing the oil in the XC90 is very straightforward. It requires only a few hand tools and some patience.
In this video, FCP Euro's Professional DIY'er Mike Hidalgo performs an oil change on a P2 Volvo XC90 V8.

Thank you, Mike Hidalgo and FCP Euro, for producing and posting these tutorials. I’m a former Saab and BMW owner, new to Volvo, and finding my way around Volvo’s sometimes unique ways of designing and building cars. I now think every mechanic should own at least ONE Swedish car during our lives to help keep keep us humble. With the Yamaha V-8 tucked into my 2006 XC90, I’ve been on quite the learning curve! Your videos of XC90 maintenance have helped me TREMENDOUSLY! Please let me know when you have time to stop by and help with the installation of new valve cover and timing chain cover gaskets on my rig.
