Of all the deaths in the series, I’ve always felt bad for that guy wearing the Homelander costume that Crimson Countess kills at Voughtland in season 3. Poor guy just showed up to work.

@@Glep909 me too, sometimes we forget that most people on the show are just innocent people if some them work for Vought some still have a bit of humanity in them. Like Koy he was just a stuntman and stunt coordinator and he didn’t know that he was actually going to get killed and when you look at his face when Homelander shows up he almost looks genuinely scared of what’s going to happen to him. Not once is it ever stated in the episode that the vents are made out of zinc nor is homelander ever shown trying to use xray vision, this is the fans coping trying desperatley to make this awfully written scene make sense. Even if this was the intention from the writers, You shouldn't have to research what material SOME ventilation pipes are made of to understand something in a story. Will the next episode require you to understand rocket science to make sense? Such awful writing.

It seems to be a recurring theme that Homelander (and also The Deep) isn't super smart or tactical in the way he uses his powers. He tends to use them for brute force rather than strategically (like in the Flight 37 cockpit where he accidentally fried the controls because he lasered the guy instead of just, idk, punching him). He's also a little lazy and very sociopathic, so he's not really worried about the collateral damage from taking the easy route with his powers. Maybe it is a little bit of protagonist plot armor, but this is pretty consistent, character-wise, for Homelander.
