you and your son. me and my dad (RIP NED) 30 years ago, even down to the red hair and missing tooth. Bet him when i was hrm... 12 that i could start his TT600 first kick. Did it. He never let me touch it again. I was extremely proud that not long after that i was one of the few people who could start his 1949 AJS 500CC. Just put a deposit on my VN900B this morning and was looking for a few vids came across yours. Glad i saw it. Get your lad on the road and ride everywhere with him while you still can brother. My dad has been riding along side me since the day he passed... wasnt able to get on two wheels myself until about a decade later. Havent looked back since.

All it took was a nice cruiser with some loud pipes to bring a smile to your kid's face. I think he'll want this one when he's older. :) I was almost sold on a Vstar 950 for my first cruiser but the Vulcan is stealing my heart.

Yes, I installed them myself. They were fairly easy to install and mounted up perfectly. These are only $350 on ebay. Roadburner has been closing these out for awhile now and there is usually a buy it now option on ebay. Do a search on ebay, you won't be dissapointed.

Well, it's not actually an aftermarket air intake, it's still the stock airbox with the stock filter and the Kuryakyn cover. Now my plans are to get a kuryakyn hypercharger air intake system, because I love the looks of the hyperchargers, but I'll also need to budget in the funds to get a power commander or Gman fuel processor as well.

Have owned a vn900 classic LT for 3 years. Yup... always looking for that 6th gear and the bike would be perfect. These loud pipes are cool and fine if you just ride on the street. If you do any long distance touring the sound will drive you nuts. On the highway this engine is revving way to high to be tolerable. Finally went back to stock pipes after some very loud Cobras, and what a relief. The big Harleys or 1700 Vulcans are basically idiling with a pleasant low rumble as they pass you on the highway. This is a tolerable sound on a big cruiser where the 900 is absolutely blaring. I learned the hard way. With the stock pipes on, this is a tolerable cruiser.

I changed mine from belt to chain and cant remember now few years back what tooth sprockets I used but was bit higher top speed and crusing at 80mph the rpm was a good bit lower, motor wasnt as stressed, the acceleration drop was barely noticed, guy on some vulcan site had the info on what size sprockets to use..but man it did transform the bike on long trips, another guy but not sure if true said he got gears made to change ratio in the box to make fifth much taller gear, must google it again to see..that is the only let down with this bike it needs a 6 speed.

These are longer cables and were already on the bike when i purchased it, but I still don't think the clutch cable is long enough. I'm thinking about getting the Barons braided clutch and throttle cables for it in a +6" so they will be long enough. Stock cables would never be long enough. I'm not sure where the previous owner got these, the apes were on it when I got the bike. Sorry I couldn't be more help, buy Barons makes cables for our Vulcans that fit the apes

That seat is fantastic. It's not cushy like a Mustang seat, but a bit firm and contours to fit your lower spine and really keeps the aches away. It does set you lower than the stock seat, so be aware of that, but the quality is top notch.

Sterling Woodard Hair dryer to heat up the badge and then what that does is release some of the sticky from the back of the badge and then take some fishing line and run it between the badge and the tank and it will come off easily and then take some WD-40 or goof off or something like that and take your time getting the sticky Gunk off the tank

john tucker It's surprisingly comfortable and easier on your shoulders putting your controls at shoulder heighth instead of lower bars that force your shoulders to roll forward. Ya, I've always had higher bars on my bikes just for the comfort and not so much for the looks. Shoulder height bars are so much nicer an long trips. Reaching ahead with the lower bars give me a pain in my neck from trying to look up while leaning ahead. 12" bars seem to be the answer for me. The 14" or 16" seem to be a little over the top and look kinda goofy.
