No problem yes I did I wouldn't have guessed a serpentine belt at all but as you say it hadn't been changed in awhile but then as you always say trial and error works works every time

@@DashCamSerbia Large spanner on the bolt like used to release it, the tension is set with a geared bolt that moves the power steering pump along the rack, then you tighten the 13mm bolt to hold it secure.

Whining noises and leaking on the pump, also the impeller blades could be broken especially when the water is very brown due to rust in the cooling system., I hope that helps Bmziwenceba

Just goes to show, that diagnosing correctly is very important in saving money.

I do not fully understand your question, I assume you are asking "But what if the noise is coming from your engine", if so it could be a few causes, such as a bearing knock, piston slap, worn hydraulic lifters, oil starvation causing knocking sounds on your can shaft, there are many possibilities, best to let a trained Mechanic check it for you.
