Officials in Marshall County are searching for hybrid wolf-dogs on the loose in Grant.

Out here in CO, we have to put up with livestock running amuck. A lady was attacked by a donkey in her yard and was bitten pretty bad. She was told to put up a fence if she didn’t want to be bit. I’d take loose wolfdogs any day over this BS, we have to put up with.

As a wolf dog owner (3), I have experienced the bias against them. Did that woman have evidence of the attack? And by the way, Chihuahuas are very aggressive dogs without common sense to defer to much larger dogs. The Chihuahua may have instigated the so called attack. My wolf dogs are not programed to kill like so many dog breeds. Lots of times they get attacked, and the altercation only lasts a short time.

I have a Wolfdog too. As an owner of one, I know there is no such thing as programming them. They are still wild animals. If you have one, like me, they're a lot easier to deal with, but in a pack, they are just as wild as 100% wolves. Sorry to say it like that, but it's true.

@caseyclark5392 wolfdogs are not wild animals. USDA defines F2+ mixes as domestic dogs. Dogs in general unalive at least 30 people every year, and they often display the same "packing up" behavior bc that is just general canine behavior, not wolf specific behavior.

@@hannahmelton5331 whatever... If you were right, I wouldn't have had to find a new vet when they found out he was a hybrid. They would no longer treat him because they didn't have a license to work on wild animals. But hey, you know everything right?

@caseyclark5392 Wolfdogs require the same vet care as any other dog. I have seen vets refuse to care for wolfdogs because they are in an area where wolfdogs are banned and I have also seen vets refuse to care for wolfdogs in legal areas because they incorrectly believe they are dangerous or need different care (often due to a lack of experience with the breed). It could be that your local area defines them as "exotic"/"wild" but that is not how they are defined at the federal level. Wolfdog regulation is left up to each state and within each state, ownership can be further regulated by county & city ordinances. Just bc a local vet refused to treat your dog, does not mean it is a wild animal. I am incredibly well researched about the laws concerning these animals at each level of regulation.

Unbiased here. Seems like Hannah is more informed than Casey-who seems to be basing their judgement based off of one experience.
