You bastard lol. I tried to record that one in Pinehurst, waited an hour for nothing... Guess I'm just not meant to hear a Hornet! Great video though, love the backdrop for it. Looks like the base bracket has seen better days though, first time I've seen anything on a Whelen aside from the pole bracket rust.

Cool recording! never knew there were other hornets around here. There are some new ones in Paoli, IN as well but I never recorded them though.

@TheWeatherGuys They are VERY new (you won't even find one in street view). The poles are freshly placed and the controls are shiny. I found two. One is by the Paoli Hospital and one is on the corner of W Water st. and 3rd. I believe is another one. They probably got this money from the French Lick Casino.

@TheWeatherGuys I don't know when they test but I do know some people who live around there who might know and I could probably ask them. And I'm pretty sure they didn't replace anything because I was searching for sirens a long time ago and I could never find one until I noticed this tall pole across the river some days ago. Like I said, I think the casino revenue gotten Orange county to buying and upgrading and new ones.

@murrfarms It was not that loud at all. I was like right up on it but not under it. I mean, It was siren loud, but not loud for a siren.

@DSRX100 Thanks. Haha. If you get a chance you should go record them. They may not be super loud, but boy they are louder than they look. Pretty powerful for their size.

@DSRX100 I actually use two. The one I use mainly is a Sony Digital Handycam DCR-TRV250 NTSC. I believe we got it in 2001 or something like that. I'm not completely sure. The other camera I use, but not as a main one because the Sony has better zoom (I did get a video with it but it takes more time to edit the videos with so it will be up later) is a Flip Mino HD which I got in late 2009.
