That’s why they play the games. Just have to prove it on the field, like always. That said, Brent just rehabbed a demolished team, and won 10 games. Including a defeat of Texas, perennial media darling and a playoff team. A success by even OUs high standards. Just go out there and prove em wrong Sooners, one Saturday at a time.

This season is going to be great. No matter what happens, we will surpass what some of the less bright SEC fans are saying about us. Some of these mouth breathers think we have won our last game, the day we left the Big 12.

Win! They have to win! BV’s first year was a bust, his second he loses 2 games he shouldn’t have lost. 2 years and no bowl wins, plus Quarterback that looked like a turn over machine in the bowl game against Arizona. They will need to win and win big to get any respect. With the schedule they have for the next 2 years it’s going to be hard for them to get any respect if they don’t go 9-3.

I don't take PFF seriously. They've been caught many times assigning grades without watching games at the NFL level, and in regards to college football they just don't have the man power to watch and grade even just the Power Four. The only thing I think they do well is coverage up through the draft and that's 'cause that's when they make all their money so they can't mess around.

They don't have the staff to fulfill the promise of grading every game. For that reason, it's a scam to me. That said, it doesn't necessarily mean the grades are bad, but you can't trust them to be accurate, if its grading a low profile game.

Let him say what they're going to say. Just know that their opinions come from absolute ignorance considering Oklahoma is never had the opportunity to compete one full season in the SEC

Not really… they have been dominated in the passing game the past 2 years and the 22 missed tackles is a terrible stat line… almost 2 per game.

@@blakehorton6306 depth has been a big issue the past two seasons also, and injuries turned us from a dominant defense the first half of 2023 to an average defense in the second half. Arizona bowl game is a good example of this. We had three weeks to get half our injured starters healthy again and had a magnificent defensive showing that game. I’d also like to see a montage of these 22 missed tackles, because I’d bet big that “missed tackles” is a loose term. My guess is they are counting plays where bowman was slightly out of position to make the tackle, because Vanables would bench ANY player that was full on failing to tackle their man almost twice a game.

@@blakehorton6306 eh, I watch enough of other teams to know Bowman was a standout, and he was never recognized as a man who “missed tackles”. So idk how PFF is categorizing that stat, but it shouldn’t push him down the rankings list as far as it does. There are not many safeties that have provided as much production as him and some stats are just Bs stats.

@@claypennington602 he’s very good, but at the end of the day this is a position group ranking. Bowen is unproven and he’s our next best there. I can see why one possible top 10 guy with unproven around him in the position, would fall behind a proven group of 3 top 25 guys. These other schools have multiple proven guys we don’t really have that at all in the defensive backfield. Washington has been around forever but has shit the bed on many occasions and gentry can’t stay healthy (I know that’s cb, but having strong cbs will make safeties better). Just need to go out and prove it for people to respect this team. That’s how we want it. Let everyone count them out. We’ll see how that bodes for them at the end of the season
