I’ve experienced off balance/wooziness for 3 years. It was debilitating and out of nowhere when it started and sent me into a health anxiety crisis. I had every test done you can think of. I stopped letting it control me and did the things that made me uncomfortable like going to the store and going to class and my clinicals. I felt off the entire time but I would just power through. Over the past 3 years it comes and goes but never completely goes. Last week I was at work and out of nowhere got so off balance and woozy if felt as though I was about to pass out. I sat down for a while and get better but since then the wooziness is back full fledge. The more visually stimulated I am, the worse it gets. I’ll feel dropping sensations and off balance and just like I’m drunk. It’s the weirdest sensation. And then my anxiety tells me it’s something serious. But it’s most likely related to stress. And then the anxiety exacerbates it. Even if you don’t feel stressed or anxious, your subconscious can be. And even the smallest bit of stress can throw you overboard. You’re not alone. It’s been 3 years for me. Get checked out by your doctor to ease your mind. But, it’s most likely anxiety, stress in a form of PPPD. Doing vestibular exercises helps me. The less active I am for a longer period of time, the worse it gets. So I’ll force myself to go for a walk or do my exercises. Take your vitamins, stay well hydrated, and try to decompress.

The dizziness your explaining is exactly what I get, it comes completely out of the blue and after its happened I fear going out or doing my daily activities incase it happens again. I'm no doctor bro but I can almost 100% guarantee it's just pure anxiety. The body has these strange one off sensations they happen from time to time but we are so sensitive to everything in our bodies that we pickup on them and freak out. Normal people don't think anything about these harmless sensations but we go into overdrive and obsesse over them. It's happened to me countless times and it really can get me down. When I've been feeling better it makes me question and doubt everything. I don't know what's worse, the sensation or the feeling like your life and freedom are being stripped from you again. That kind of back to square one feeling. I try to use it as a building tool and don't let it take hold. It's definitely not easy but sometimes these are the times I push back the hardest. The last thing I want to do is go into the grocery store feeling like this but I make myself because I'm not letting anxiety take back anymore of my life. That's the theory and in all honesty, sometimes I push back hard and sometimes I can't make myself and feel down for a while. Either way we've both come so far and we're not going to stop moving forward. Nothing but respect bro! God Bless!👍

It’s vestibular issues. Most likely pppd. I have it. Mine was really bad for about 8 months. Now I’m about 98% better. Some days I get that dizzy still and pulling feeling. It sucks. You gotta let it not scare you. If you let it it will keep you dizzy. It’s weird. I also have anxiety symptoms even when I’m not anxious and it scares me. The trip may have like subconsciously overwhelmed your brain. I even get nauseous from it sometimes. I also have that fuzzy floaty feeling a lot of days. It is SO frustrating. I’m so sorry you deal with this too. Healing isn’t linear. We’ve got this!!! Mine started last August.

Can't belive that I'm so happy to hear someone else's health issues. Every single word you said described me to a tee 100% sad it say but it made me smile to finally hear someone describe my story. Your definitely not alone in this I have had this feeling on and of for over 15 years but this time it just seem more intense than ever. I'm pretty much convinced it's pppd and anxiety working in a continuous spiral to mess me up. I think the older we get the likely it could be something serious plays a bigger role in the way we think about the symptoms. Love your ink in water explanation its a easy way to describe it to others. Your clearly a anxious person you can tell that by the way you worry about people getting into cars next to you and I'm guessing you worried there going to think your wierd for talking to your phone. I would be exactly the same. Good luck on your journey mate. Cbt therapy seems to be helping me to stop thinking the same way that I have always done.

If seeking medical assistance will put your mind at ease. It’s worth it! I went to the ER when mine first started three different times. They couldn’t find anything wrong with me and told me it was probably from my anxiety. It’s frustrating. And so many people deal with this. I’m in a pppd group on Facebook. You should join! It’s nice knowing you aren’t alone. I’m in the one called chronic subjective dizziness.

Wow. You are describing my life for the last 2 years. Just knowing I’m not alone in this adds some comfort. I had no idea what was going on and found it very scary. I have always suffered with some form of anxiety throughout my life. Now it appears to have shifted to add dizziness into the mix, which I find the most difficult to deal with. It started during first lockdown. I had been furloughed and became very inactive for 7 weeks up to that point. And had already been working from home in a new job since April 2019. First time it happened I woke up with it. Scared the shit out of me. I thought I was having a stroke. When it happened again 8 weeks later, again when I woke up with it, doctor said it was bppv. But I wasn’t so sure. Between these 2 episodes I had had other various different dizziness going on on unbalanced/lightheaded and this was happening all the time not just lying in bed. I thought maybe it was worse because I was lying down. They have refused on 2 occasions to send me to ENT. Presuming that I didn’t present other symptoms. Which I think Vestibular problem’s would, but not sure. I should perhaps think, well maybe it’s stress related, but it didn’t seem like that at the time, very out of the blue. It has never got any worse, and come and gone. I have had migraines in the past but never that made me dizzy, so vestibular migraine could be it, but I’ve no other symptoms at all. I thought maybe something neck related, as it happened lying down at first, a blood flow thing, or a nerve issue in my neck. But again, would I have noticed other symptoms like pain or obvious stiff neck? I do have neck tension, but would it cause this? It’s frustrating as I will probably never know:( I was thinking all sorts, but I think this is normal if doc doesn’t give answers. I was trying to diagnose myself, convinced docs were wrong. Didn’t know what was going on at the time and asked the doc could it be bppv, anxiety or both, so one causing the other, and they just said maybe, possibly, they didn’t have a clue. When it first happened I didn’t feel stressed as I had just been watching tv playing games at home. But looking back, I had changed jobs after 20 years the previous year which was actually a total nightmare. I then ended up furloughed during lockdown. So it was eat sleep repeat and I never went out at all for fear of covid, even for walks. I had this on and off for 6 months, it was at its worst starting work again in Oct 20, but eased off over the following month. Some incidents seemed stress related others not, but the dizziness varied too, in type/time/severity, it was never the same. And I couldn’t really relate it an ear to be Bppv. Like you, I try to be positive in that it hasn’t got worse or more persistent, which it would if more serious. I had a massive Panic Attack out shopping, I went really dizzy before it and this was after the doc told me bppv, so I hadn’t been anxious about it happening when I wasn’t lying down, So I wasn’t even sure this was connected to that and again thought it was a stroke. All docs did was offer medication! Living with a constant fear of going dizzy is so horrible:( I try not to let it control me, but it’s difficult. It seemed to go away and then last summer returned and went away again and then returned again 6 months later. I always think that the doc had missed something as they never really did any tests on me from the neck up. I worry that this is going to be with me forever and not go away, the fear of bppv is still there because I don’t know for sure. I had no idea that you could just go dizzy from anxiety without hyperventilating. I still struggle to exercise as I know this is recommended. People don’t understand that having anxiety isn’t something you can always control. If it is down to your genetics, as I do think that with me, as it happens when I don’t feel stressed too. Just like my migraines used to do and I used to get panic attacks in the night too, out if the blue, so now is it dizziness instead? We probably have more cortisol in our systems which needs to be burned through exercise. I feel your pain, I get on with life, it happens again and then boom! Back to square one with negative thoughts about what is wrong. It’s like we have to learn to say, yeah anxiety bring it on… long time no see…. Know you’re not alone in this. Anxietycentre.com is great website. There are soooo many symptoms listed one being dizziness. Shows how much it varies. It says on here that anxiety dizziness can be misdiagnosed for Bppv. The more I looked into it though, the more I found out about a connection between people with anxiety it can make them more prone to Bppv. Anxiety dizziness only mimics Bppv with different things going on in the body affecting vestibular rather than it being to do with crystals in your ear. I found doctors to have very little info about anything and they were most unhelpful! Offerings meds as a solution! I ended up having to google to find things out which is something the docs say not to do! Because I don’t have all the answers, I still go to bed every night, trying not to lie too flat, which I find uncomfortable. I wouldn’t have to do this if it wasn’t for the doc telling me about bppv. If it’s anxiety I doubt it will make much difference how I lie, but I am too scared to try it. So, not only do I go to bed every night thinking I am going to wake up dizzy I also don’t know if any bppv is occurring and if it’s there forever…I left a very stressful job in 2019, I am not sure if it’s just the events of that and the last 2 years that have brought this on. But mine hasn’t been as bad as it was during 2020. I was hoping to be free of anxiety leaving that job, but it got worse. I have been left with a bad health anxiety. I think I should stop looking to diagnose myself and perhaps have trust in the doctors….even though the first one appeared to misdiagnosed me. I’m telling them my symptoms so if they thought it was vestibular migraine, a vestibular ear issue or neck issue they would have got that from my description of what was happening. Although I have tinnitus….this didn’t sway them. You are right in what you say, if it’s only dizziness and it comes and goes it is unlikely to be serious. Sorry for this long comment. I have felt very alone with this and feel like no one understands, or realise how debilitating it can be.

I have struggled with anxiety for years, but this pppd is terrible. I live in Alaska and people have mentioned high humidity and barometric pressure changes can cause vestibular imbalances. At this point I am trying to live life the best I can and when the dizziness/wooziness/u steadiness flares up, I rest and take it easy.

I get exactly the same thing. The feeling, the questions the fear. I have suffering with this for 6 years and tried anything. Some days are good some days are not so good but the only thing that helped me was reading Dr Claire Weeks books. It’s about accepting the fear. Please take your time and read them or watch videos about it. It really helped me. Vacate Fear is the channel that explains her methods. It’s brilliant. Ok my friend, I think I have the life changing answer for you! Please read - there is another neurological syndrome called MdDS Mal de Debarquement Syndrome. I have all the symptoms that are you talking about and I was first diagnosed with chronic Vestibular Migraines - THEN a new neurologist, Dr. Shin Beh, finally diagnosed me with BOTH vestibular migraine AND MdDS (spontaneous onset.) MdDS feels like it comes and goes or can be constant 24-7 with a sense of gravity pulling, pushing, rocking on a boat or bobbing swaying feeling. If you get in a car and drive you feel better. If you get out of the car then you feel rocking again. There are treatments to give you life back! I hope this helps.

As a physical therapist the wooziness or foggy head feeling is something I hear a lot after treating someone for BPPV. And as someone who suffered from anxiety/panic attacks in college I can tell you that anything that makes you feel off will make you worry and feel those symptoms more intensely. I went to the ER twice thinking I was having heart attacks but everything was fine. If you've had everything checked it's certainly possible you have some form of crystallization or BPPV forming that is resolving itself in your sleep or when you turn to get up making you feel that light-headedness/foggy head feeling. There are maintenance exercises for BPPV which you can try a few times a day to see if it helps your symptoms and habituate you to the feeling Edit to point out that although BPPV can be treated and resolved the long-term effects on the nervous system and vestibular system can still linger resulting in certain head movements causing the sensation if it's not properly therapized

I've had this on and off for around three years. My neck is shot and I have accupuncture booked, but whatever this is is terrible. I feel depersoned and not like I am in reality. I get terrible tinitus too. I am convinced its neck issues for me

You’re not alone. There are clearly a lot of people who have the same issues. In the research I’ve been doing it seems that if you have medical clearance and all is well that Neuroplasticity may be the path to resolution. Look up Rock Steady by Joey Reminyi.

It happens to me quite often, I had Vestibular neuritis which started over 2years ago and my doctor said recently that it's quite normal to still have dizzy spells, I feel like I'm on a boat, really scary.

My neurologist is one of the best in the world - Dr. Shin Beh. He can see you via telemedicine for diagnosis and management of meds. He is based in Dallas, TX. Effexor 75mg and Lamotrigine 300mg daily (this medication has been the life saver) as a preventative for both VM and MdDS. Please note that most doctors, specialists, ENTs, and neurologist DO NOT know about these dizzy disorders especially the neurological origin ones. I literally have lived the same hell that you are discussing in your video. Please see Dr. Beh or if not find a good neurologist at a research university hospital or medical institute in the UK that will prescribe the medications you need to manage your life. Also Valium or clonzapam and a triptan medication during attacks is essential. Wishing you the best! Also, I promise things will get better! Stay strong

@@michellewalter2734 your symptoms sound more like ENT would be more appropriate first. Dr. Beh is a neurologist who specializing only in vertigo AFTER ear nose and throat has ruled out inner ear causes. This sounds most like BPPV but could be different things. See an ENT first

I have been feeling dizzy and off balance and anxious with several anxiety symptoms for over a year now. Its so annoying. I got several blood tests done so I know my organs are fine and I don't have any diseases. But still no Damm reason for the dizziness and off balance feeling. Got an appointment at the ent next month lets see what comes with that. If nothing shows up there I will go see psychological doctors. I want to feel normal again. I hate this condition. It impact my life in a negative way. Its so frustrating

You will get used to it and symptoms gradually resides. Keep doing vestibular exercises. I do have this since nov 2019. When seeing the world differently now I realized atleast we are this stage. As well I am taking homoeo medicines which helps me widely wrt to anxiety, diziness and mental state.

Vertigo sucks !! Now I'm afraid to sleep cos I'm dead ass scared I might get Vertigo again... 😭😭😭 But what you have at the moment sounds like Vestibular Migraine from prolonged periods / severe Anxiety. I had the same shit and was bed-ridden for 8 months straight ! A trip to visit my family and Clonazapam got me back on my feet. Speaking of mini stroke... I've got my Dr to get me an Angiogram since this shit runs in my family. 💩

I get this! I go through periods of time where I’m doing pretty good and then boom out of nowhere the dizziness will come back and I’ll feel off balance and every time I stand up or move my head I feel like I’m swaying and it is so scary! I genuinely think of the worst every single time. It’s so hard to cope with, only thing that keeps me somewhat calm is remembering I’ve had it before. If I get a sensation that I haven’t had before or don’t remember having then it’s a lot harder to cope with, I have to check my vital signs etc to make sure I’m all good. I think like you , I think we can all relate actually when your questioning if it’s a mini stroke or stress or vitamin deficiencies, lack of sleep, this, that etc. The list is endless for us with health anxiety. So thankful for safe spaces online like here, where I can vent and relate to others, thank you so much! I really hope this dizziness cycle ends for you soon ❤️
