Walk through Old Town Warsaw, Poland

We arrived in Warsaw late afternoon Saturday. First, we had to drop off the rental car at the drop-off point at the mall near several miles away hotel. We have not recorded much on Saturday, and instead took it easy and had dinner and drinks in downtown Warsaw. On Sunday morning we meet our friend Nick, who grew up in the same city as Andrii in Ukraine. Nick moved to Poland in 2017. Most of our conversations were about Poland, Polish culture, war, and Ukrainians in Poland. This is the last video from our road trip through Germany and Poland, we do, however, plan to return to Poland this autumn (2022) again.

It is not the Baltic Coast and the Vistula Delta that are anymore, but the Lublin region is the most promising area for obtaining amber in Poland. According to the Balance of Mineral Deposits in Poland as of December 31, 2020, out of the nearly 3,581 tonnes of domestic amber resources identified, slightly more than 98% is found in the Lublin region.

W Niemczech tez sa centra handlowe w niedziele pozamykane, sklepy spoźywcze tez, tylko piekarnie otwarte, ale najwyzej do poludnia. Polska nie jest pot tym wzgledem jedyna.

In Poland, it is forbidden to drink alcohol in public places such as streets, parks, playgrounds. I often see tourists walking down the street and drinking a can of beer, unaware of the violation of the law. You can drink alcohol in restaurants in separate buildings and gardens, where the restaurateur has a permit, outside such separate gardens must be at a distance from schools. Police treat everyone equally because they are also charged with penalty tickets - they must have results.😄

Thanks! Yeah, that's why we were confused at some point. Drinking in public is prohibited, but then a guy is selling alcohol from a window :D

@@imperfecttravels The recipes are stupid a drunk will pour vodka into a bottle of Coca Cola and drink it, and if someone takes out a beer, he will get a fine to pay and the one who drank alcohol with cola will laugh and you can see the absurdity of this situation

Amber-bearing trees carried away by the river deposited in the Eridan Delta and in the shallow zone of the Eocene Sea. These are the areas of today's Gdańsk Bay. Thanks to this phenomenon, from Karwia to the Sambia Peninsula (Kaliningrad Oblast), huge deposits of amber were created, contained in the so-called blue earth

Shops selling amber products are only found in tourist destinations. Among Poles themselves, amber is not very popular . Poland is associated with amber, which has been extracted from the Baltic Sea since Roman times. By the Romans it was called the Roman route .

Bursztyn jest nie tylko dla turystów, bzdura, od wieków w Polsce popularny, dużo biżuterii jest z bursztynem, nie ma sklepu z biżuterią bez bursztynu, na Kurpiach wydobywa się go z ziemi, Kurpianki mają piękne korale z bursztynu, nie jest tylko nad morzem tylko mało się o tym mówi.

Polska jest największym na świecie eksporterem bursztynu 😉 Poland is the largest exporter of amber products in the world. About half of the global market belongs to it.

Maybe not the "most", but yes, some American cities still have simple rectangular-shaped apartment buildings. Soviets modeled theirs after the United States if I recall correctly. Nevertheless, we had no intention to judge or offend anyone with our comments. I grew up in Soviet-style 9 stories tall apartment building.

Warsaw was completely destroyed during WW II. There were many nice 5 strorey buildings from the 19th century but they are now gone for ever. Instead we have now apartment blocks from communist times and skyscrapers in Warsaw.

Powiedz to szwabom ,austriakom itd .Oni nie mieli chyba nigdy otwarte w niedziele.Przynajmniej w Austrii nigdy, .ale taki genius ekspert od wszystkiego wie lepiej .Żenada ! Zamiast spędzać czas bezsensownie wałęsające się po sklepach i oglądać towary możesz teraz z rodzina isc do poraku , do muzeum ,pograj w gry itd, NO chyba ze nie masz rodziny to idź i na stacje benzynowa ona jest otwarta oraz sklepiki osiedlowe ,
