I never quite understood the usefulness of mess tins…. Until I watched your videos. Thanks so much for showing us another way to do things!

I have both sizes of the Trangia Mess Tins with handles, and I found myself really wanting a non-stick coating. I found a Trangia Mess Tin copy which is non-stick coated inside and out and which may be used on a wood fire (surprisingly, many coatings aren't suitable for use on a wood fire!). There are neat racks which fit these models which allow steaming (the racks are stainless steel or titanium). You found a great location to have a cook out, and its good to see these excellent tins being appreciated.

I have two models, too. For the same reason as you, I have thought about purchasing such terminated mess tin.

I have to say I got rather excited when that steak slid out of the package, but I didn't have breakfast...

That first shot is a long way to go back and collect the camera. Wouldn’t it be great if you could mount it on a very well trained dog? 😂

Sounds like a good way. But I don't have a dog. Have a nice day.

I bought it from an online shopping mall. It's a top & top product.

Is this the small or large tin?
@walkingman71362 жыл бұрын
This is a small tin. Thank you.

It looks good and all, but really, it's just an aluminum box with handles... You can get it much cheaper under a different name

Given the Trangia quality and affordability, I wouldn't have thought that their very reasonable price would be much of a deterrent! Quite what one can get for "much cheaper" than an already low price remains to be seen...
@carmenmartinez2882 Жыл бұрын
@@felixcat9318 I ordered one of the cheaper ones just because it came with a steaming rack I intend to use for various things including baking but I also ordered the large Trangia because I know their quality. I’ve owned the 25 and 28 systems for several years and I absolutely agree about their quality. If the cheaper one warps/fails I can use the rack in the Trangia 😉.

@@carmenmartinez2882 Those steaming racks are great, and as you say can also be used in the Trangia. They pack away tiny but increase one's ability to cook with these great mess tins.

Your trousers---where did you get them? I'm sick of ruining my normal day to day clothes on hikes. Need something better able to handle my constant falling down...
