Tim I absolutely LOVED this video it made me cry of emotion, as I use to live in Tanygrisau growing up as a child and it brought back so many memories. I've walked up that hill hundreds of times, and sat around that very lake for hours on end. Most of my childhood memories are of this area. When I was there the house you got kit up in was derelict, and I have a photo of myself as a child in there with sheep! Our house was right by the entranceway near the car park. Seeing it after all these years, hardly anything having changed, was so surreal. I showed the video to my parents last night and we watched it twice through, they loved it too. Thank you so much for doing this video 🙏

Back in the 80s, I stayed down an underground limestone mine (more properly called a "Quarry") with some friends. We used to explore the mines every weekend with a group of friends. These are situated near the villages of Box and Corsham, in Wiltshire. We actually slept in bivvy bags and small tents. On this one occasion, we stayed overnight. Strange noises were the worst thing .... mostly from the sound of water dripping from the roof down onto various rocks puddles, but the imagination running wild made sleep difficult. Unlike Tim's experience, we had to put up with extremely high humidity, approaching 90%. Occasionally, we could hear the unsettling sound of trains passing through the famous Box Tunnel which was only a few hundred feet from our location.

Several questions came to mind: 1) evacuation plan for the hotel, is there one? 2) If someone got hurt, do the paramedics come down there to haul them out? 3) are there earthquakes in the area, and if so, would one get trapped in the rubble deep down? 4) how often do they change the sheets, because hauling out all that laundry and human waste in bags and the trash is a mind-boggling feat 5) what happens if there was a power failure, are there generators that will kick on for electricity? 6) is there cellular service down there in the event of an emergency?

Great vlog Tim. You're very brave to do that, I wouldn't do it for all the money in the world 😮 I haven't seen the film you mentioned, do I really want to watch it after watching your video....🤔😂

Well, what can you say? Absolutely incredible! I have been down a couple of Welsh slate mines (yes, with a helmet, and yes I did bang my head!) but nothing like this one! Full credit to you for doing this one and enabling us to experience it without having to actually do it. No, I will not be!
