This is the kind of unique thing that a bullet heaven needs in order to stay fresh and relevant for much longer. All the other clones of Vampire Survivors don't feel great, since it's really just recycled content, but NIMRODS is doing multiple special things.

I'd love to see more! :) Explosions seemed mad powerful. I think the game could use a bit more juice before hitting "fantastic" status (maybe the further upgrades provide enough of it), but a fun demo nonetheless.

I really enjoy bullet heaven games for some reason. There's something really satisfying about them. Army of Ruin is hard to beat imo. If this gets a console release, i might check it out though. This game is incredibly hard to Google because everything is just about the Nimrod computer lol

the reason you couldnt get split rockets is because by using the gun you automaticly get expslove bullets which dont allow you to get split

Thing with this game is that I found that all my guns were turning out pretty similar since there's no actual re-rolls or ways to guide your build. You just get what you get which usually means a hodgepodge of upgrades. Some crit, some extra projectiles, some attack speed, some damage, etc. I've tried a couple of times now to build a shotgun into a big sweeper with a ton of projectiles, but it never happens simply because the 'extra bullet' upgrades don't show up often enough and there's no way to force them to appear. So you usually end up with a middling mix of random upgrades. The actual attachments are what dictate the gun feel, but even then there are only a couple options that really change the feel of the gun, while most are just stat buffs that really don't effect your gameplay or strategy. The base gun you pick makes the biggest difference on how the gun turns out but. but the each gun will generally end up looking and feeling the same at the end of each round with that gun. The only major difference being whether or not you pick the helix barrel since it's the only thing that really actively changes your playstyle. Sadly the helix barrel has a bug and will nuke your frame rate so it completely ruins the gameplay. I had one run where both me and my robot had hydra launchers with the helix barrel (before I knew about the bug) and the game was running at less than 1 FPS. I died to the final boss because i could actually move or dodge anything.

I really like the idea of being able to 'save' runs.

the big drop building is a second spawn point. be careful with the helix 2 barrel(increases bullet # by 2.25x) it likes to glitch and perma stack when you use the underbarrel. i had the teslion carbide shooting 3500 bullets per shot with split shot and the game borked really bad lol. got to where i was getting 3 frames a minute lol.

Just saw this game last night for the first time and tried the demo, loving it so far and with Halls of Torment I picked up a great little game on the recent sale so the survivors itch is getting scratched

Love to see more of this. And for God's sake man do a run with the noob tube attachment (grenade launcher) :P

The rocket chassis very nearly crashed my game with the amount of lag split bullet and multi shot generated. But it was... Glorious...

This game is fun but gave me a headache after a while. Had a rifle with tons of ammo capacity and attack speed. The entire screen would just constantly shake during an entire run haha

The game you are wanting is The Riftbreaker? It's a twin stick shooter with base building and randomly generated but persistent worlds. It's not really a bullet heaven in the normal way you'd think of it, but you could argue it is in many respects as? There isn't really a meta progression outside of building a bigger base and leveling up your weapons tho.
