100% true! There’s a lot of stuff that can be incorrect with the audio or hard to work with or hard to deal with. I can certainly be a tricky subject. 😜 thank you for watching!

Good videos. One thing I realized with FairLight and izotope RX 9 mouth-declicker is that it will skip the first few seconds not only on playback but also when publishing. So my workflow is as follow: 1. Do the cuts/edit in DaVinci 2. Export main audio tack to wav 3. Import to Izotope RX 9 and mouth declick and denoise (background print). Export as single wav 4. Import wav into DaVinci audio track 2 5. Mute other tracks 6. Do the rest of the eq/compression/limiter/sound-level in DaVinci fairlight 7. Export There might be a way to have the DaVinci RX inserts behave the same way as they do in izotope standalone (i.e., not trim the first few sec), but I have not found it.

Great video! Friendly suggestion, sounds a bit anemic in the mids for her voice. I used to use this same technique, boosted EQ level frequency sweeps to find ‘offensive’ frequencies…I’ve learned that many frequencies, when boosted 20dB or so, sound offensive, lol. Especially if the audio source is more complex, you’ll find lots of ‘harsh’ sounding frequencies and end up killing the ‘body’ of the audio. As you did, I love using multi-band compression, after setting a high-pass filter of course, I suggest trying compression first, then go to EQ if needed.

The 2nd track sounded good, the only thing that Stuck out to me was how Fast the Voice cut off when she was done talking. I think with the Vice being cut off like it is gives it a Staccato sound. I would much like it better if the Vice was more smoother. The Staccato Vice it kinda like dragging your finger nails across a chalkboard. But you Asked and that's what I was thinking at this time.. I don't want you to take it the wrong way.. I like your Videos,, Thank Man..

Hey man, thanks for your feedback, I appreciate it! I agree with you. If I adjusted the gate a little bit better, it would have helped with the staccato issue. Making the hold and release a little longer might have done the trick. Thanks for checking out the video and commenting with your thoughts!

Great Tutorial ! Is there a global save for all the adjustments done so it can be applied to another audio from the same source ?
@JasonYadlovski
@JasonYadlovski 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yes, you can save a global track Preset. If you go to the Fairlight menu at the top of the screen, select presets, in that window you’ve got different options for types of presets you can see. If you click the drop-down you’ll see one for a global track Preset.

Hi and welcome! There should be a little toggle switch next to it. You need to turn them on first, then they should work. The toggle should be right next to the name in the left.

I need help advice on the Yeti world of Warcraft edition Mic, I keep picking up tapping etc so obviously I need a Boom arm and a pop filter but like what then... Its so confusing :(
@JasonYadlovski
@JasonYadlovski 2 жыл бұрын
You've got to figure out where the tapping is coming from - the keyboard, the mouse, electrical interference with the cord, some other room noise, check the sample rate recording levels, etc. Once you know where it's coming from, try to eliminate it. That's the best thing to do.

What headphones are best when Mixing 5.1 Surround? Then how do you know if the audio is emanating from the Correct Channels/Speakers of the Surround System/Sound bar?
@JasonYadlovski
@JasonYadlovski 2 жыл бұрын
Hi! If you were mixing 5.1 surround sound, I would not use headphones. I would use a surroundsound system so you can tell where everything is going. But as far as headphones, do you want headphones that do not color the sound, studio monitor headphones. Some thing like the Sony MDR-v6, Beyerdynamic DT770 or Audio Technica ATH M50x just to name a few reasonably priced options. You just don’t want anything that adds extra bass or changes the sound, like Bose headphones or beats headphones. Those kind of great for listening to music but when you’re trying to mix your own audio, you want to hear what it actually sounds like. I know you’ve been working on the surroundsound stuff for a long time, have you got it figured out and working the way you want to?

@@JasonYadlovski Yup Finally got it thru my thick Skull. Went back many many times to your EXPERT videos on working with Surround sound and all of a sudden it POPPED it finally made sense. It was in your Tutorial all the time I just did not understand it all. Also under the FREE Version of DR17 I could not see all 6 Channels of my VIZIO SB3651 E-6 Sound bar but did see all 6 Channels On my old Turtle Beach Advantage SRM 5.1 surround System. After buying DR Studio I now See all 6 Channels of every Sound Device connect to my Computer. Thanks Jason Love your Tutorials. Just takes me a bit longer than others to grasp it all. NOW when do we start Mixing DOLBY ATMOS?

Most of the time Resolve looks at the system settings and if you change it, it may mess with Resolve.

There's not great native tools in Resolve to get rid of echo. 3rd Party plugins seems to work well though.

Thanks for your support Mikey, I appreciate it. Being a KZfaqr is a lot of fun but also lot of work. I do have a family to provide for and bills to pay just like everyone else but sponsors give me the opportunity to not only support great products/services but also provide for my family. I appreciate everyone who checks out a video of mine, even if they decide they don’t like it. And that’s perfectly ok. 😁
Magic trick 🪄😁
