I watch a lot of fishing channels ,and i mean a lot ,but you are heads and tails more informative than the lot of all the others. Your info is very sharp and clear ,not a lot of B.S. The jig is definitely a must have. I recently started fishing local tournaments. Got invited to be a co-angler with an experienced tournament fisherman. I was fortunate enough to catch 4 spots for a total of 9lbs 14oz from the back of the boat with a jig. The driver never caught a keeper. So if it wasnt for the jig we wouldn't of had anything to weigh. The jig is the JUICE...keep em tight fellas✌️

I fished a tournament at Lake Cumberland in Somerset KY in 1995. I was 17 years old & fished with the big boys. I had two lures, one a black/blue jig with a pork chunk & the other was a shad color culprit jerk worm. I came in 2nd out of 22 boats. 5 fish @ 14 lbs & 7oz. I was 8 Oz away from 1st. 90% was on the jig. Thanks for you vid, it was awesome.

Best advice for using a chatterbait….if retrieved using pumps of the reel and rips of the rod tip from being hung up, it will 3x the fish of a standard retrieve or a hop retrieve. My go to confidence lure 3/8 black and blue 👍🏼.
@DanglingwithDietrik2 жыл бұрын
Geez, no wonder I can’t catch much with it. I would always just steady retrieve and barely change it up
@jamesh74692 жыл бұрын
@@DanglingwithDietrik steasy retrieve is great it your around grass or cover that cause it to hang up and deflect. But if it’s in open water, the erratic hard handle turns give it the crazy darting movement that breaks up the monotony

Rod pumps and quick turns of the reel handle when the bait comes past cover is key to getting bit. Straight retrieve works but an erratic action triggers otherwise lethargic fish.

First I’d like to say, It looks as though you’re out of the Ohio area so everything you give works well for me here in Kentucky. I just recently, end of last season, started tournament fishing with Kentucky Bass Federation and love it. I even got the chance this year to fish the National Semi finals tournament in Kentucky lake. Even though I’m still a co-angler, the back of the boat is still a lot of fun. Would love the opportunity to go out on the water with you. Keep up the good work Tyler

And yes the thing about the pond practice applies in all the lures I use daily. Chatterbait tho catches everything. Smallmouth in rivers. Largemouth everywhere, northern Pike. Musky. Flathead catfish. Redfish, snook, spec trout. Etc....

Ty, your exactly right, on the worms. Biggest bass I ever caught was on grape, with black stripe, curly tail worm. Worms have caught as many big bass as a jig. But worm is forgotten for some reason. Get on you tube, and watch Roland Martin, fish a worm, but only guy that will make video, just fishing a worm, catching Biggers. A worm is fool proof, put a sinker on , then a hook, and a worm, your going catch fish.

I think this idea that we’re supposed to buy a crank bait and then buy new hooks for it is crazy. Manufacturers should not sell crank baits with crappy hooks. This is the one piece of fishing advice that dives me crazy. You guys should be complaining about it and pressuring manufacturers, not just accepting the idea that it’s ok to sell a bait with sub-par hooks.
