Warhammer 40K: Battlesector reviewed by Jon Bolding on PC.
Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector beats the pants off of other recent 40K tactical games, making a run at skirmish wargame greatness. While it's limited in places and the interface can struggle, the tactical combat is well worth the time it takes to learn and the Momentum system rewards your strategic prowess with more capacity to dish out pain. From the diverse campaign missions to the straightforward skirmishes, I not only recommend Battlesector, but hope that it does well enough to warrant the addition of many new factions in DLC and expansions.

Have you played W40K Gladius? That game does wonders as a wargame/4X use of Warhammer, and I'm quite impressed how much detail and diversity of armies it manages to create for what is a three-man project.

This is the proof that GW could make a turnbased tabletop simulator completely based off the wargame with customizable maps and armies. They probably wouldn't because that would cut into their miniature profits.

This game would be AMAZING if they just had MORE races/factions. Even with the upcoming necro release, 3 just isn't enough. Games like this are fun trying out all the different factions and finding-out what works, and what doesn't.

In fairness the game is set after the deviation of Baal. It makes sense that there are only two. Yes it would be cool tho but probably more in dlc.

I'm a bit tired of playing as the Blood Angels but great to see some great Warhammer licensed games coming this year. Total War Warhammer 3 is still on the horizon but this seems like a great way to gap the time

This game is awesome just needs a little love, a few more factions, and splash of map terrain/scenery variety. Still a great game as is though just think some dlc would take it to the next level.

Why are all 40k games just play as this one chapter of space marines and fight one of the xenos. I’d love a game that follows the table top game closely where you have points limits and build your army through progression and can play as and against any other race and faction. This would be a great way to scratch a warhammer itch while unable to play with friends

They focused mostly on primaris. You get agressors instead of terminators.

Turns out Chaos Gate is getting a sequel now, over 20 years after the original...so you'll be getting that somewhere soonish if not here. There's also Gladius right now which is modern and can do this, albeit it's sort of a 4X-Lite rather than a fully combat focused TBS.

It’s one of the closer ones. Normally shots don’t distribute damage through a squad, but kill off wounded as damage is applied, and grenades can be used by a squad once a turn instead of being limited per mission. Mostly small changes like that.

Хм, для любителей шахмат. Как ни странно, но лучшие игры по WH40k выходили как раз для любителей шахмат. Да, были и реал-тайм стратегии, но... На любителя (я про захват точек для ресурсов - слишком стар для этого дерьма, мне бы домиков понастроить и устроить зерграш или киров-репортинг, для меня были стратегии без построек, вроде Коммандос, Садден Страйк и вот такого вот всего тех времён, Десперадос первые ммм, но, как только появился захват точек в стратегиях - я просто дропнул в них играть. это где-то с первой Кампани оф хиорс. Ибо мне не понравилось).
