Warhammer 40K 2nd edition battle report. Angels of Death vs Chaos 1500pts

The start of our codex wars. Each codex we have an army for will be set against the others.
1500pts, no wargear, vehicles upgrades, bio-morphs or chaos rewards and no named characters.
Fleshtearers mission-WITCH HUNT
Stratergy cards- Traitor and forced march
Chaos mission- DAWN RAID
Stratergy cards-Saved and special issue(seeking ammo)
Sorcerers powers- Iron arm, teleportation and prescience

If you'd have stayed in combat with the dreadnought and finished it off you could have won this with the extra victory points. Unless of course your Sorcerer was then killed in the ensuing explosion... :D Gotta love 2nd ed. Thank you for doing these battle reports.

Sorry not to have left any comments for the last two weeks, we had a severe electrical storm that took down our telephone line and so we have no telephone or internet unless we visit neighbours. we are still trying to make contact with the service provider to get the line repaired.

I'm pretty sure that with the Death Company you wouldn't be paying for a separate Chaplain as he leads the unit and comes with. And he'd get a jump pack along with the rest of the squad.

Chaplin does not come witj the Death company and he has to be bought seperatly. Otherwise the DC will just move across the battlefield in a random fashion

After the chaos forces accomplished their mission, they were not yet satisfied. The Chaos force smelled blood in the air and chose to annihilate the servants of the emperor. They may have bitten off more than they could chew in the attempt.

I thouoght you could put terrain in the deployment zone. IIRC one person set up all the terrain and the other could choose which side to have. This made it even as you couldn't make one side better for yourself. Other option was alternative pieces of terrain and an agreed (say 2 pieces of terrain) for your own deployment zone.

Kinda. I would have to check the rulebook but I am sure it suggest no terrain in the deployment zone, defo no hills or tall building give massive arcs of fire

If you're doing it by the rulebook then you alternately place terrain, with every other piece you place having to be outside of your deployment zone. I just set the board up and let my opponent choose which side they want.

Cool. I normally let Jason set up as he does better boards than I do and then we dice for off and winner gets to pick. It means he does a balanced board.
