This video shows the creation of a metal Warhammer Novamarine logo through the sand casting process. The emblem is made from molten aluminum that is poured into a petrobond mold.

Very nice work. I'm about to try the brand of crucible that you use. It seems that the quality of the other "BRAND NAMES" is way off par from when I began casting years ago. Anyone else experiencing crucible failures?

I hope it works out for you. I have only done a few firings with the current one I have in use. I am preheating the current crucible in a toaster oven to 500F while I set my furnace up in the backyard. The preheating hopefully will help with the temperature shock of being hit with a direct flame in my furnace. Then of course the crucible is put back in the furnace when its cooling down so it can slowly lower to ambient temperature. Thanks again for watching!

@@DamonsMetalCasting I'll probably upset some people but welcome feedback. I started years ago with "Procast" and had great luck, then used other "Off Brands" with mixed results. Never tried the Salamanders,,,,,yet. Borax or no Borax, It seems like there's not a huge difference. That's just MY experience. Again, I welcome any feedback. Thanks, and Cheers to you.

Maybe put adjustable feet on that board then you know its level and stays level

Yeah I wish I could do something like that but I need to clean up each time I am done casting. My wife has a few opinions on how the backyard should look.
