Many people dislike the kits where all the weapons are separate from the hands and arms, but I love it for customizability, and this kit is the only one made in this style that still looks natural when put together.

Absolutely agree, many times I've cut the weapons off arms and cut the grips off weapons to make custom arms on other kits likes the winter Germans, but it's extra faff and creates a weak spot at the join where its likely to snap off if handled roughly during play (like when you scoop up the whole squad after that heavy mortar catches the lucky 6). I'll certainly try, may have a time limit on these though, so speed may be more of the essence.

I agree I’d much rather it be fiddly but be able to make each one individual than have the arms attached and you end up with 2 or 3 of the same guy. But I also prefer painting before building as I find this works better for me

Are you painting on the sprue? Do you find the paint interferes with the glue or the glue ruin the paint if it leaks out of the join? These are the problems I found when I tried that in the past... Do you just touch up the paint again after assembling? Jonny

@@TabletopTommies hiya, my process is undercoat spray on sprue, take off sprue and tidy up with the same colour undercoat base paint then I paint everything up then glue together. After that I do my base and glue model to base. I always go for precision glues and I don't seem to have an issue with glue overspill but I've only worked on gw stuff so far.

Interesting, how do you hold the pieces while painting them? blutack on a stick? Jonny

@@TabletopTommies I only use brushes not airbrush so I've always just used my fingers I just find I get the most control that way. I don't speed paint at all either as I enjoy taking my time with it
