A good place to live because couple of reasons: huge shopping mall, city centre is really close, old town is walking distance, there is a metro station nearby, and Żoliborz is right behind Westfield (Arkadia). I lived almost 10 years in this area and can reassure you it’s a good decision to settle there. Good luck!

Hello my friend… again 🥰👍🏼😉. Really loving these quaint yet very city-like neighborhoods. I think I’d have trouble deciding. As a New Yorker by blood, yet also a Southern Californian now . I’d be having trouble deciding LoL. All of these beautiful areas are so appealing for many different reasons. I think whenever you choose will be perfect for you. I know I might sound a bit silly…. But….. I’m really starting to really feel a pull towards Poland. I really am.. Who knows what the future holds 🤷🏻‍♀️. I’m certainly open to new possibilities.. May I add that chocolate cake? Yum! LoL. Enjoy your weekend. Sending my love as always. 🥰❤️❤️♥️♥️♥️

The dish that Marina had is jjajjangmyeon (pasta with black bean sauce) which is a typical dish in Korea that they eat when they are moving to a new aparment or graduating from school etc. I am so happy that you checked out the restaurant I recomended 😊. You will have a lot of fun in this neighbourhood and I can be your guide if you would like.

As you are now a Warszawiak you have to know: we don't call it Westfield, but Arkadia. Westfield bought Arkadia mall, but the old name is still there. Noone from Warsaw says "Let's go to Westfield". It is always "Arkadia" ;)

I am from Poland, I was born in Warsaw and I’m living in Warsaw and I still think that Warsaw is the best place to live. Also what I love about Warsaw is that there are a lot of parks and green places where you can enjoy the nature. Like for example New York. Most of it are skyscrapers and buildings… Only one park. But that’s not the only reason why I think it’s the best place to live here in Poland. It’s also really modern but not all of these things in Warsaw are modern. We have the old town, pre-war souvenirs.. The only thing that I don’t like about Poland is that it can be cold sometimes. You know it could be warmer

Excellent spot where you are taking this appartment. Now I am in the Philippines but previously my office was just nearby on Inflancka... it's just a SUPER chill district while it's close to everything. You have Westfield Arkadia nearby which is my fav shopping centre in Poland and it has free parking (I recommend Asia restaurant upstairs, take a Kinoko Udon soup there.... mindblowingly good), you have a swimming pool complex nearby (baseny inflancka) a lot of great caffes. Quick access to city centre and żoliborz districts as well as Right Coast Warsaw is easy to get to through Most Gdanski, and in the summer there are a LOT of beach clubs opening on the right side of the Vistula (you chill during the day, dance during the night) - I highly recommend your new appartment district! And you have Bus, Tram, Metro and Train between 200 to 600 m from the appartment, it's super well connected.

Close to the metro station Dworzec Gdański plus good selection of public transport, huge shopping mall Arkadia, Inflancka swimming pools, walking distance to the Polonia Warszawa football stadion (third division) and MK tenis courts, or nice walk to the old town which is also nearby. Old Town looked so pretty at night that I looked around and took a little virtual trip of Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market at night and then Salem (it was a little louder, since it was probably Halloween, but still pretty historic looking, although the real action happened in Danvers - but there's really no reason to celebrate that) and a little walk through the Boston Public Garden on a spring morning - the pretty trees were mostly White, perhaps I should try Beacon Hill? But at least I have walked through the Public Garden in the evening in the summer, even if it was 1984 and it was memorial day and it was incredibly hot, and our friend Bill taught us how to cool ourselves off by putting ice on our wrists AND* the backs of our necks. *Sometimes I see a typo in something I've written 12 years ago and I have to go back and fix it... And then I came outside where it's 82 (and now it's sprinkling) to find that the ducklings that ran to me still don't like kale. Maybe I can thaw some peas...

glad you are enjoying my home town...now ill give you few secrets that not alot of folks know about...first off to save on food since you seem to eat out a lot...milk bar or mleczny bar is essential...cheap good solid food that is pretty much it if you think portions are going to be small hehehe order 3 dishes or more just kidding i find it tourists or out of country guests cant finish one dish. also warszawa has a lot of hidden parks some of them are gems that only locals know about and they normally dont share...my fave was park olsztyna in zolibosz by aleja armi krajowej i gabinska. i grew up near there and even after moving to wola i would grab a bus or a tram to go there...if you are lucky the mineral water spring will still be there. since you were in old town i recommend you hit the gallery lot of tourists skip it but it is something to see if you go to strata wuzet catch a tram that is about 6 meters from column of king zygmunt and hit the warsaw zoo...as i recall there had been quite a bit of improvements. but as a child i found military museum rather fascinating so you may want to hit that also i know you would not be a man without boys heart hit the rail road museum which is west of that russian monstrosity and centralny dworzec it has some one of a kind exibits particular item not a lot of that left in the world is a pancerny pociog which had been worked on since late 1980s. also something special a tourist tram line well bloody worth taking a trip on along with a topless bus . you may find some open secrets by taking those. also to explain why city is so spread out but old town is not so much is as follows old town had been rebuild from scratch to old maps and insides were modernized to what at the time was modern. also warszawa had been leveled and what had passed for what centrum is today was rebuild with long term expansion in mind for both bus and tram and cars. a philosophy tat had been kept up with. btw there is a park that is build on top of all the ww2 ruble that had been moved there and it is worth checking out. for trip out of the city hit kolejka podmiasta look for points of interest there is a terrific icecream place past proszkow that still gets my taste buds singing 40 years down the road and according to my aunt still exists. but if yu want something off beaten path and i had never seen tourists go there go for Rurki z bitą śmietaną not to far from Hala Wola on chluchowska the place is on corner of dzeworytnijow and puszszy solskiel... its tiny place so follow your nose or ask where is cukiernica...enjoy it

I've written about this before, but I think it's worth pointing out ;) At the beginning of May we have holidays, so stores and museums will be closed. 1st May is Labour Day (International Working People's Solidarity Day). The genesis of this holiday were the events in Chicago in early May 1886 and the fight for 8-hour work day, but of course the whole history of this holiday in Poland is long 3rd of May is a celebration of the constitution passed in 1791 which was the second national constitution in the history of the world. 2nd May is Flag Day, on this day shops/museums are open but many people take time off to extend the weekend, schools are closed, public transport operates on a holiday/weekend schedule. Sometimes employers give this day off, but employees must work it off on a Saturday chosen by the employer. Generally on this day you may face various difficulties or changes. It will not be an ordinary Monday in PL :)

Hey there - please don't be surprsied to see many people in parks or restuarants in next few days. Also, a lot of Polish flags. 1st to 3rd of May is when we celebrate the so called "Majówka" (1st of may is May Day/Labor Day; 2nd of May is Flag Day; 3rd of May is 3 May Constitution Day). We also call it the "Long Weekend" :) as Majówka usually extends normal weekend (1st of May is on Sunday this year and 3rd of May is on Tuesday) - and if there's a gap a lot of folks take a few days off work to go on short trips or spend time on leisurly activities with family and friends. Unoficially Majówka is something akin to spring festival that is also considered the beginning of the barbecue season in Poland.

I'm sure that once there's peace, Ukraine will develop and bloom. Cutting off the Red Tumor will help move away from soviet delusion. It sure did help Polish people. Poland of my childhood was very much like a Ukraine, but it improved after we torn down soviet statues; we didn't forget what Russia did, our parents managed to cultivate history throughout the communism. Russian government for years has successfully led Eastern Europe into belief that Polish people are "this" or "that", that we hate all eastern countries. It wasn't the first time either when they've put a wedge between Poland and other countries picturing us as Imperialist, often by referring to the distant past (like few hundred years ago, when they simply wanted the same land as we did)... Russian brainwashing is not the result of only last few decades or even centuries... They've never had a ruler that truly cared for the people; absolute power is what they know. Now, when Ukrainian people understand that their propaganda cannot at all be trusted, they too can move forward.

Especialy area around Ratusz Targówek where city meets nature (newly built estates with the Bródno Woods just outside the windows). New metro stations are being finished here (should be opperational sometime in august-october this year). City invests quite a lot in this district. So far this neighborhood has changed greatly and with those investments and metro, i don' know if i can imagine how it will look in 5 or more years. But even though there is such great infrastructure here (with metro, i'd say it'll take 20 mins to get to the center of Warsaw) and everything you need within reach, flats are still very affordable. There's quite significant Ukrainian and russian-speaking community here. Fun fact: There are two theories of origin of the name Bródno. One says that after 2nd world war there was a dump here (therefore it was dirty here, eng. dirty = pol. bródno), the other says that Bródno comes from a little trading colony located near a ford (eng. ford = pol. bród). Autorities are trying to recreate the looks of this settlement, which was located in present Bródno Woods.

The city and the Country is coming back to life after two years of 'chinese virus' lockdown nonsense! In Poland we have a long weekend from May 1st to May 3rd, and May 3rd is our National Holiday, the day when out first Constitution was declared back in 1791, first such a document in Europe and second in the World, just after the US Constitution. A lot of Poles take the entire week off and go for a mini vacations during this time.,

14:50 if this is what you like, you'd love Austria, Bavaria and Suavia / Schwabia. In those three countries they have very well maintained monumental old buildings mixed with superrich moder architecture. When I was working there I was astonished every day. That is the richest part of the continent and it is visible.
