Was Jesus a Bodhisattva

If I say I think that Jesus was a Bodhisattva it is quite likely to offend a lot of Christians because it is almost as if I am trying to demote the status of Jesus from God to being some kind of saint. But in terms of Mahayana Buddhism anyway then a Bodhisattva is even more sacred than a God. And that is because the Bodhisattva is even more important than a Buddha because all Buddhas arise from the Bodhicitta the mind of enlightenment.

Buddha means awake right? Someone who is awake to the true nature of reality... I would say,Jesus is a Buddha... Ive recently have found your channel.i like your approach to your different topics.... Keep up the good work and Thank you Sir!

Everyone claims Jesus. Almost like the religion he started was the right one.

He didn't really though. The golden rule was already found in Judaism before he preached it. Also, Jesus preached an apocalyptic message. He thought the end times were near and he wanted people to repent of their sins. This is nothing really like Buddhism. There is no god figure in Buddhism and the idea of the end of time isn't really found. This idea of Jesus as a Bodhisattva is just a modern myth that has grown out of Westerners wanting Jesus to be a lot hipper than he was.

Yes you may or may not be right. Some even claim that Jesus was teaching non dual Advaita, that seems far fetched. My own feeling is that Mahayana Buddhism influenced Jesus's view primarily through the teachings on Bodhicitta and not by the Buddhist view as a whole. Of course whatever of Jesus's teaching remain they are presented to us not in the original context but in the context of the various codexes that make up the new testament. What is certain s that the Christian view post "council of Nicaea" was very different from that of early Christian communities many of those labelled as heretics. Also there is no reason to believe that a Bodhisattva would necessarily teach the Buddha Dharma. As it is taught a Bodhisattva will appear whenever appropriate, even in the form of a bridge or a prostitute. Not sure how true this is but a friend of mine who is a deacon in the Russian Orthodox Church (that has high regard for the desert fathers) claims that their religion accepts the existence of Bodhisattvas who intentionally reincarnate to benefit beings. One example was a bodhisattva who reincarnated as the warden in one of Stalin's Gulags. As it is quite likely that the Orthodox churches preserve a more authentic representation of the view of early Christians (who I am told held a belief in reincarnation) I wonder whether this was influenced by Buddhist Philosophy. 🙏🙏🙏

No, you're totally wrong. The Dalai Lama confirmed reports that he went to Tibet and there are many other sources that speak of his time in the orient. What he taught in his ministry is informed very obviously by far, far more than the golden rule. You need to research this. Christians all over the world are overconfident and taught very sensational things about Jesus for which there has literally never been any definite proof, and it's been that way for centuries. You'll start to see it. It is absolutely like Buddhism, Buddhism echoes many of Jesus's teachings already. Don't forget that the Buddha predates him. And some forms of Biddhism do have God figures. You're not very knowledgeable on this. Jesus was just about the hippest there was
