Was the Promaster Good for the Panamerican Highway?

Жыл бұрынShould we have even brought this Dodge Ram Promaster all the way down here?? It's so hard finding these parts, if we knew from the start we may have made a different decision.
We have left Ushuaia to Punta Arenas, Chile! This wasn't our original plan but since we have found a piece of the van siding missing we have to try and get it ordered before our next return. How hard is it to get this part in?? How many other things will go wrong along the way?!

Any chance you could add map references to the videos so we get an idea where you are? For example, seeing why you went from Argentina, to Chile, then back to Argentina would be helpful. Happy trails!

I will skip your van and go to my RAM PROMASTER CITY. Only on its second year with 14,000 miles it remains nearly new. I am glad because at this point I doubt I have enough money for any kind of repair. Winter is severe here with wind storm and 30F degrees nights. I have two battery packs and small electric heaters. Below 50F degrees I run the van engine that truly works great. 45 minutes gives me two hours of true comfort. The storm tonight last all day tomorrow so I am inside until the following day. Be careful stay safe!

Has it occurred to you guys to try the equivalent of junkyards? There are at least 4 other variants of your van. Fiat Ducato, Citroen Jumper/Relay, Peugeot Boxer/Manager, Opel/Vauxhall Movano. Many of the mechanical parts will be the same over a large range of years. The two parts you were looking for this time would likely be perfectly fine to get from a junkyard/recycler.

The import taxes and customs. It ended up taking 2 months to get a part which usually we wouldn’t stay that long in one area

Glad I’m not vegan-no link to the store which will disappoint vegans following in your footsteps. On the parts issue I’m surprised it took you so long to get to the Peugeot dealer after your Panama experiences. Incidentally my tire pressure monitor hasn’t worked either since I put the spare on after a flat. I put a piece of tape on the dash to cover the idiot light.
