Has he somehow forgot that we are talking about a MOVIE?? Sounds as if he has forgotten that movies and books are two different things to people who are not him. Your standard movie watcher who is not immersed in the whole comic book world and just wants to see a good action oriented movie with comic book characters is NOT going to know about all these “variables” he’s talking about. It’s not easy to make a good comic book movie, something the studios, save MARVEL, haven’t figured out yet. Looking at you WB (Warner Brothers). And even MARVEL misses the mark now and then, especially lately. Actually, ALLOT lately. You have to make a movie that can be watched and be enjoyed by BOTH comic nerds, (which I probably qualify as) AND people who only know they are watching a comic book movie and are not neck deep in the lore. This guy is so immersed that he has forgotten that NOT everyone is reading all the actual comic books and then going to see the movie… which is most people… the VAST MAJORITY of people. The people that read the comic book ARE NOT the only ones that go to see the comic book movies. (I wonder if this guy realizes that??) A while ago I read somewhere that only about 20%-29% of people that go to comic book movies consider themselves comic book fans, and only about 10%-12% are current active comic book readers who would consider themselves to be up and current on the lore. It was a while ago when I saw these numbers so I wouldn’t swear by them, but they seam reasonable. If correct, it means about 70% of the audience has only a cursory, or very general knowledge of comic books, and their characters, and the world they live in… and would NOT know all the little ins and outs of every little detail, and who's been ret-coned 18 damn times, and who is a clone of who, or who’s from a different alternate reality, or if we are all actually in someones damn dream…. or any of the other eight billion tiny bits of information that someone (like this guy) would have to know to have a complete COMPLETE picture of what’s going on in one of these waked out crazy worlds these characters live in. The “Snyder Cut” was a misguided money grab. Interesting only to those who have deep knowledge of the lore and history of the characters. Interesting, not good. Just…. interesting. In my opinion. I’m a fan of comic books and the movies they inspire, but some of the worlds/realities the stories exist in…. I mean really.

Snyder cut was decent. It’s not like it was a masterpiece compared to the original 2017 one. It was definitely better but still fell flat for me. A lot of good ideas and such good casting but hey it’s all over now. Hopefully the James Gunn dcu is way better and actual coherent.

I think the theatrical cut is better, which is embarassing, because it was the studio-demanded, "frankenfish" movie which was a passion project of no one.
