This 575-mile route thoroughly explores the Cascade Mountains beginning in Stevenson, WA and making it to the Canadian border at Night Hawk. Views of the massive volcanic mountains from the dense forest in the southern part of the route are stunning and the open arid pine forests of the central part of the route showcase the diversity of Washington. The route just seems to get better each day as you head north and into the high-mountain areas beyond Lake Chelan.
It takes most people about 5-6 days to complete the route and there are some easy alternate sections to get around difficult stretches. There are many great camp spots along the way for those looking to rough it. The route also works well for those looking to stay in hotels or to do a little of both.

Mountain House Skillet breakfast needs tabasco if you ask me , I bring stuff like that because all freeze dried stuff is way bland . The Apple Crisp needs more cinnamon , some things just need salt and pepper but other need cayenne or some other thing to give it some zip . Nice seeing you teaching your daughter how to drive off road , I did the same with both of my kids at a similar age and my jeep had a clutch so they had to master that also .I think everyone should know how to drive a clutch even if they don't think they will ever own one because you never know when a situation comes up where you need that skill . Snakes are cool , I've had a few pet snakes some caught wild others store bought , only thing about them is they carry salmonella on their body so wash up after handling and don't give them kisses LOL I doubt you would but your daughter seems to like them , both my kids like them and my granddaughters seem to like them as well . We are in Puyallup and so far all we have seen up here in Washington are garter snakes , where I'm from we had a lot of different snakes a few poisonous but mostly not .

Man that sucks about the power steering going out. Good decision on not continuing. Not worth making things worse. On the other hand it's Hilarious seeing a man turn all girly over bugs when the girl is having a blast. If she hasn't already have her check out Bugs In Cyberspace channel. So good to see others so interested in so many things at that age Instead of video games.
