Hell, so much of college tuition goes to bloated, overfunded amateur sports programs. The highest paid state employee in most states is a football coach at a public university FFS. Lol

If Yahweh picked the Chinese, the British might never have been Christians at all, because Christ might not have been as important to the politics of Rome, giving Rome no incentive to spread Christianity to Britain by deliberately selling them a concept of Jesus Christ as looking like an Anglo. I'm imagining modern white equivalents of hoteps in Hong Kong theorizing that Jesus was white and it's all a cover-up.

Love how The Boss is out there at the inauguration and the jeep super bowl ad saying everything's getting more and more ok. My actual Mum got stung by that exact "hack" - verbatim - which was hilarious for two reasons; first off she believed it to be true and was totally non-plussed about the whole thing, and secondly - my sister sufferes from accute paranoia - so every single inbuilt cam is covered with 5 or 6 layers of masking tape. My mother is coming up to her 60th year of life and I have never been prouder of her.

Just saw master and commander as well, thanks to will retweeting Russell Crowe's thematic breakdown. It was wild cuz I actually remember seeing it on tv from like when I was in 3rd grade, when my dad just watched all the horacio hornblower movies. Master and Commander, despite being vile revisionist imperialist propaganda of the wettest source of syphilis mature ever produced, is a 10/10 excellent picture that is perfect to watch during this resurgence of sea shanties. The sea calls to me.

All the Super Bowl commercials did was solidify my belief that the internet really is the simulation that we all think we're living in. Culture clearly ended in the 90s and everything is just a remake or reference to the 20th century. There's nothing new & nothing to even imagine anymore. And all we can do is laugh about it apparently. Depressing. This show is a bummer now too.
