The death of the heroine's companion is not meant to evoke pity or sadness because what matters is the futility of her sacrifice and its impact on Hibiki (remember that she had everything and only now realizes its uselessness). The word 'heroes' is the right term to describe them.

After watching episode 3 I realized there had to be a lot of missing story. Should have been some OVAs or something. I noticed Makoto is wearing blue in the short part at the end of the episode, and he was wearing red during the battle in season 1.

That is just because he switched his robe into battle mode etc in that fight

I was like ep 3 is going to be alright..but saw the heroes again. Did the anime think we gave a damn about the heroes. They can squeeze this in 1 episode though

To me its fairly obvious, that the female hero will join makoto after her whole party dies, and tomoki will be the villain

These extras are annoying. Sad about setup. The best thing I took from this episode…the last two really justified my stance on hating the goddess. Made me feel good about being right.

Then just don't include it to begin with, either to the minimal barebones or do it properly, don't do something in between like this
