Honestly, I'm digging the traditional uniforms of (who I can only assume) is his Royal Guard. Fascinating that they've managed to keep that style of uniform throughout the ages. The modern Red Coats aren't anything to scoff at either, a very well presented nod to the old uniforms. As for Charles, a well deserved salute from his Royal Armed Forces.

As someone who served 22 years in the Royal Navy, BZ to all those on parade and the military street liners, in the finest tradition of the services magnificent. Up Spirts, Standfast the Holy Ghost, Splice the Mainbrace, The King Royal Navy and Royal Marines, the Senior Service. Pomp, Circumstance and Tradition

To keep the English culture alive, to keep the Church of England functioning, to promote tourism in England, to patronise various charities and to uphold the constitutional conventions, the Royal Family needs to be preserved. King cannot be replaced by an Elected Head of State.

That’s on purpose. The British took the bearskin hats from the French Grenadiers when they won against them. The French use to wear them to look taller and more intimidating.
