The Militias fought under their State flags, the Continental Army fought under it's flag. - So with all this being said, perhaps it is best that they used modern National flags. 🙂

@@jleechadwick Scots fought Scots who had left Scotland for the new world before the revolutionary wars its was the Uk against everybody dutch, german, slavs etc ,etc..Out of a small population we have in Scotland the Scots had so many regiments in the British army back then. The thin red line refers to a Scots regiment stopping 4000 Russian cavalry in its tracks with 3 rounds per minute then using those long bayonets on the muskets/rifles on the Russian cavalry who about turned and scattered in disarray.Just a line of red coats in kilts bagpipes blaring fighting in crimea exactly where the Ukrainians are fighting the Russians now.Our highest award for gallantry and bravery your equivalent in the US is the medal of honour is called the Victoria Cross its made from captured Russian cannons taken during the crimean war of 1854.The SAS were formed by a scotsman during the second World War.Your neighbours in Canada most of the regiments back then are named after Scots regiments as so many Canadians are ex pat Scots, all the best Janice from your cousins across the pond.

Gives me goosebumps watching stuff like this. I'm British and I love how close our nations are. Like many people have said, I consider anyone from the U.S. as a family member and treat them with the up most respect like I've known them my whole life. Its a natural bond that is hard to explain and unlike any other. Thank You for honouring our fallen hero like they were one of your own. Forever united and eternally bonded.

My father was a young soldier stationed near Salisbury during WWII, before Overlord. He was in the 11th Armored Division, 63rd mounted infantry battalion, Co. May they rest in peace, both the American and British soldiers who died in the battle of Camden. I have deep roots in South Carolina, though I live in Montana now. The soldiers on both sides were fighting for what they believed in and they all paid the ultimate price. I had ancestors who fought in the American Revolution. I just happened to find this on my feed on KZfaq and I'm really thankful for discovering this video.

The U.K. was at one time an adversary. I'm kind of sorry about that, but it had to be done and there's no regret, here. It wasn't the people, just the form of government. There's no "Real American" Soldier, ( I say again, REAL ), that lives today, that would ever let the Union Jack or Stars and Stripes fall, ... if they're able to still stand. And it wouldn't be for a King/Queen/Government. Only people make those things, or allow it. It would be for family. Oddly enough? The very thing, this U.K. Soldier tried "to uphold and defend"? Is the very same thing, that the nation that killed him?... Is trying to make "law" now.

@@ampatriotsmith9545 British rebels wishing to call themselves Americans caused the Revolutionary War. "You don't understand American history to make a remark like that". American History is as follows - 1620: The English arrive in Cape Cod and establish a new colony. 1776: 'Americans' who are just British anyway, declare independence from the motherland. 1783: The Revolutionary War ends and in 1785 Britain establishes diplomatic ties with the United States. 1812 British soldiers occupy Washington DC and burn down the White House, warning America to stay out of Canada. 1863-1865 Britain refuses the Confederates constant pleas for military intervention, who claim that they, unlike those in the north, are of pure British heritage. Folks, these British soldiers, as I recall from my Canadian history lessons, defeated the Americans, marched south to burn down US White House, ate a scrumptious dinner set forth by President Madison's wife, Dolly Madison. They then used the furniture to start the fire to burn down the white house. Some of them were marching south to join up with British forces to do battle of New Orleans. Remember, during the 1776 war, British soldiers were buried (basically, in a 10' hole) where they died. British officers were out into wine barrels and returned to England for burial.

@chrisbeach9360 The British soldier presenting the flag is not wearing head dress, the British Armed Forces do not salute when not wearing head dress. There are many reasons why a British serviceman may be allow or required to not wear head gear. In this case, it was because he was part of the bearer party, who don't wear head gear. I can't find the actual reason for this but I imagine it's either as a sign of respect to the dead or due to the way we Brits carry the coffin on our shoulders, head dress especially the more elaborate one's worn by some Regiments (guards as a prime example) would get in the way or possibly be nocked off the bearers head. Or some combination of both. As for stamping his foot its a funeral so somberness is the order of the day. A stamping a foot is loud and not very somber basically. And no I don't think the flag founding and presentation is a British thing we do as a tradition. It seemed a little less formal and less rehearsed as a result compared to the US soldier's. This is not a criticism more my own observation. But the way the US serviceman carried the coffins seemed a little hurried, maybe they don't have a slow march like our armed forces. It just seemed a little, for want of a better word, sloppy in comparison to the British soldiers slow and almost deliberate placing of their feet. Also the fact we carry the coffin on the shoulder also seems more symbiotic as if the dead is a hero being held up high for his peers to see him one last time. Maybe both our armed forces could learn a little something about funerals from each other that would improve the respect shown to our dead. Not that it not being shown. But, just like everything, there is always room for improvement, and these two areas maybe such examples. Also yes as a Scot who has heard enough bagpipes the one playing here sounds out of tune.

Then you need to call upon the Lord and ask him to save you, Romans 10:9-10 King James Version 9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. If you do not get saved you will die in your sins, Revelation 20:15 King James Version 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Hate seeing a politician have to sully the ceremony. And yes, South Carolina had had it's impact on the United States, not all of it good.

South Carolina is the first confederate traitor state to try and break away from the united states'of America. And the first confederate traitor state to quite literally fire on the American flag in Charleston harbor at ft. Sumter, April 1861. I call south Carolina traitor state number one.

We have had 2 direct wars with Britain we considered them our number one enemy until the japan/ germany/ Russians took that spot in 1938 now they are our number 2 or 3 enemies, our oldest and most trusted ally without who we would not exist is France Not England. Just stating historical fact, if you feel you need to disagree you should open an actual history book first.

Perhaps you're the one who should open a history book. If you did you'd find out that the U.S. and England were actually allies during World War I which, looking at my calendar, predates your inane and absurd 1938 statement. In any event, while it's true that the French were our allies during the Revolution, the only reason they were was that they wanted payback for the British kicking their butt and claiming Canada during the French-Indian War of the 1750s.

@@64MDW WW1 was fought in France and the low countries, not England , what a dumbass, we joined that war when it looked like France was about to lose. Had nothing to do with the green-toothed people of the UK.

Those men buried there wouldn’t want to be honored by the men standing over them today. This government is no better than that of the British in how they treat the average American.
