I had the 7.3 fan clutch and I hated that garbage. Constantly hear fan noise, robs power and MPG's. I put a factory 6.0 fan clutch with the blue wire mod and it's a huge improvement.

That one bolt that does not want to come out. That is because the force is no longer divided over more bolts! If you loosen them together a little bit at a time then there is no problem. The way to get this one out is to just put 2 extra bolts back in and tighten them. You can make any bolt a stuck bolt, if you loosen them like this. Especially on flywheels they are toqued tight, so to have all that force concentrated on just one bolt, that is for sure gonna be stuck!

2005 Subaru Outback XT. Timing belt / Clutch job. The flywheel is held in by 8 star bit bolts, recessed and covered. Had to cut the flywheel up and use a chisel for the 4 stripped bolts.

Subaru outbacks are stupid, Mt friend replaced the headmaster 5 times on one with 100k+ miles on it than bought two other Subarus for the same thing to happen now he has a camry and it almost has 400k on er 😂

You need the right tool for the job, his ratchets are too short and don't allow enough leverage. I have a three foot long Matco 1/2 inch drive that would have made life easier.

If those cyl walls still have cross hatch and cylinders measure within spec id just light hone with a stone to help square them up instead of a ball hone and reuse the ring's. Bet the main's will look good too. Are you gonna get the rotating assembly balanced? Me personally never experianced a balanced 6.0 yet. But from what I here It's worth lookin into since you got her tore down lol

Yessir I hit them with the stone quick you'll see in the new vid😎 nah I didn't have to balance anything should be all good just have to put the balancer in the same spot

@@freeddieselNice job! Yeah Ive been pushing off over a year doing the exact samething to my 300k 6.0. Im sure its prb prestine like yours Other then the lifter's 600k easy on 6.0s but I see alot of fine dirt here chasing down rice farmers and a life of dusty ass dirt strips. If yeah seen my interior you'd swear i won the Baja 500 twice with the windows down.
