i recommend using hsbc and a global account if your from the uk and us as this bank runs in different countries and if u need to go back home for familoy emergencies or or holiday periods such as xmas/easter your new yrs u got many in the account to transfer if needed and can transfer between the uk, us and australia, as for an australian bank account if u go with westpac u will c westpac combined with st. george as one branch as st. george is under the westpac umbrella but both operate as there own independent banks u just an extra bank option to choose from, also wespac operates in NZ same with anz, personally i wouldnt recommend commonwealth bank but this is a personal choice for you to make.

How much money did you take with you? I’m going to do construction but going to have to spend money on tools, white card and PPE

I just took everything I had, but I know that’s not particularly helpful - essentially if you’re going to be without work there while you find a job I would be prepared to fund yourself for a minimum of 1 month.

How far in advance did you apply for your visa? I know you said entry within 12 months but does it take long to process? :)

You shouldn’t need to apply more than a couple of months in advance but it is a good idea to get your visa cleared before you pay for flights! X

Skippy m8s: join a amateur sporting club or beach boot camp. Original Boot eastside good. Cars: just buy a cheap shit box. Vehicles are not disposable here a. But r a money pit. Good onya 4 supportin pub transportation. Walk, cycle(if u have da stones). Hey do a vid on Bondi 2 Bronte.

i could never understand why people rave over bondi beach . there are dozens that are better. manly for one. then south cronulla. most are markedly better.

Honestly the only thing that you would ever worry about in Australia would be swimming in northern beach of Cairns or Mackay with irikanji jellyfish which are tiny deadly jellyfish that you won’t feel the sting. If you ever hear a local mention there maybe irikanji stay well away from the beach.
