A Chinese footwear manufacturer says his factory in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, has created over 8,000 local jobs in the last 12 years since its opening. Now, he is looking to expand his business across East Africa. One of the company's managers says he's confident in the future, thanks to not only the long-term friendship between Ethiopia and China, but Ethiopia's membership in the BRICS bloc of developing nations. I really appreciate this program, and I think it would be best to do more of this in Africa to see what the Chinese are really doing for the local government and population since many Chinese factories have a negative reputation in Africa with the locals.

Weird to tell if this is supposed to be for the average Chinese citizen, for Chinese capitalists intending to invest in factories in Ethiopia or for Westerners. And I don't think the interviewer and the interviewee are on the same page about it or even sure themselves who they're making this for.

It does not matter. The thing is that it shows the truth. This is an example of China-Ethiopia win-win cooperation, which means that both sides benefit! That is the main thing! This is what the developing nations need - more cooperation, more development, bringing more and more people out of poverty!

Most factories do not differentiate customers. Obviously, they will be selling to everyone who wants to buy, local and international customers.
